This is first camera fone from samsung that has
autofocus... So we'll see can this compete against k800..

Best pic is patent of sony, so samsung can't use it...

This is a pretty good phone,but I doubt it will beat k790/k800 because of these simple 'flaws':
1)No infared
2)No bestpic which k800 has
3)the fact that z710 is a clamshell and the external screen used as the viewfinder is rather small.
And that k800 is the first cybershot labelled phone.

The "normal" people dont buy K800, buy Z710. The people whom know about tech and choose your phone according to their requirements, the people who wants quality and better characteristics than others, these people choose K800.
For the nascents and ladys is Z710. And K800 is for tech freaks and people who know about technology.

And i have a T610 and W800 and never had joystick problems.
This is samsung, always is behind Nokia and SE in features, but is over these trademarks in design terms. And i really impressed with the latest models like D830, X820 and D900, i think that this phones are excellent!!

Z710 beats K800 in display & in the design category handsdown..their features are almost identical, neither handset can claim huge advantage over the othere..SE K800 to have a better camera, better bluetooth, better mp3, but samsung is a better phone.. SE puts too much attention on camera & music functionalities, but "normal" people wont buy a phone becoz of that..they buy a phone because it looks good & can do a lot of other things..hey tarantula, even if u put those 2 handsets side by side & ask the people which is a better handset, Samsung Z710 will be their choice..Y?becoz it's a "BORING" handset with exagerrated features & while Z710 is good-looking hadset with nice features!by d way, I had K750i b4 and the joystick screwed up after a few weeks!see, SE focuses on features other than the hardware!how can u operate the K800 when your joystick doesnt work!

I say boring because samsung release a LOT of models with almost the same design long time ago! This is a fact, it isnt a opinion. SE produce candybars, simple design, minimalist, a practical phone with great functionality, top class camera and features. And K750 isnt an ugly phone, is black, sober design and well sized phone, i wait the same about K800. I share with you the opinion that samsung has the best designs in the phone industry, but it isnt enough for me when i buy a phone, but this is a valid market strategy (moto V3i case, a best seller with poor features and good design)

heard your points "Tarantula"...just don't call samsung sliders "boring". Your beloved SE has just came up with one sliders...they so far has one bar phone design and one clamshell design..and till date neither nokia nor SE or Moto has such eye catching sliders that samsung has.
Its about preference. When it comes to cell phone, I look for design first, features next. For you its featires first. But whatever it is, saying Samsung sliders "borning" you are simply making yourself funny.

K800 beats Z710 not only in photografic part, is better in bluetooth compatibility (2.0 with EDR), better in mp3 player (like w800/w900/w810), better in java performance (MIDP 2.0), better in sound quality (package comes with top class headphones). Comes with a true flash for night shots and image stabilizer, best-pic, pict bridge, infrared port, netfront web browser, radio with RDS; and combines all features with cyber-shot technologies and branding. With these qualities i think that Z710 only beat K800 in design, but for me it isnt important, most important is the feature set in a phone.
K750 is a best seller in top class, no other phone can compete with it, including Nokias N90 brick with carl zeiss and samsung boring sliders hahahaha!!

just spotted a SCH-A990 over at engadget.com...
basicly it looks to be a CMDA version of the Z710, with one vital diffrence. multimedia keys!
basicly they have put a trio of keys on the right side of the phone, right under the hinge. back, forward and play/pause.
i only hope to the gods of mobiles that samsung did a last minute addition to the Z710.
and btw, yes there is a photo light on this mobile. but i fear that it will be not much better then any other thats currently available.

SE K800's design sucks. It's not worth comparing it to Z710. It's a typical bar phone with a horrible joystick, it's huge. If you compare these two handsets side by side, K800 will look cheaper. Let's give K800 the benefit of d doubt on camera results but it still not enough to outclass Z710.Samsung is still the best when it comes to incorporating advanced features into a small phone. Nokia & SE may have the first in innovations but putting it into a good-looking, compact phone is another story. Until now, no model from SE/Nokia can match Samsung E730/D500's size & features.Think about it.

Hey this phone is really nice, but does anyone know if and when it will be sold in the UK and what price on which network? I have the Sharp 903 at the moment but this is a smaller and better looking version of the same phone i think!
