Had this phone for 4 months now...
Seriously happy with the HSDPA. Not impressed with the battery-life (though it lasts way longer when BlueTooth is off!)
I bought the phone for US$500 - dropped it and broke the flip action. Wasn't covered under warranty since it's "physical damage". Paid US$200 to have it repaired by Vodafone.
Had it back for a week now, and I'm still impressed with the HSDPA. Just too expensive to run it, since the cost of data is US$0.30 per MB.
Bad reception, but that may be due to the servive in my area.
Phone gets very hot when charging! Also during calls. The charger's port beats Nokia's "pop-ports" hands down. Pop-port from Nokia single handedly stopped me buying another Nokia.
On the whole, ZV50 is a great phone for surfing the web and listening to music.

To Mel, I have had the samsung e330 and currently own the samsung e730.
When browsing on WAP, just like yourself. The battery and the keypad become very hot aswell. I think its just 'Samsung' in general that has this problem. Or it could just be a selection of flip phone models.

I have a ZV50 on Vodafone and a Z560 on TIM both in Italy. I don't understand Italian so I can't use the manuals or access technical support. Neither phone works easily with Mac OS X or XP Pro in my experience. I am used to the EV-DO service on Verizon in the US using a Moto E815. Always worked without a problem and of course, the Moto worked perfectly with Mac OS X and XP.
After several months of frustration I can finally connect to the internet with both phones. Neither seems particularly fast and nothing near 1.8 Mbs. There are some modem scripts available for Mac OS X and I'm still hit or miss when using XP.
My suggestion is to bring your computer to the store and test the connection in person. Samsung direct technical support has been lousy. I haven't been able to find a manual for either phone online.

Sold to me as a new generation 3g cell phone hmmm
Finding out the hard way about the battery life constantly need 2 full charged batteries not impressed at all with the so called new technology finding it hard to use as a modem running it on an osx.
cannot sync up with diary and contacts. In a nutshell by using it as a standard cell you probably find it quite fine but dont expect anything else.

Having the ZV50 now for +/- 3x weeks, I discovered when searching the internet for 15min, the battery aswell as the control panel gets very hot. It's the first that a SAMSUNG phone is doing this, to me. Is there perhaps anybody that can explain why the phone is doing this. Overall, this is a very nice phone.

Yes this phone is exclusive from Vodafone, but if you live in Portugal you can find a good rival on TMN.
The new z560 from Samsung, with the sames specifications plus an internal memory of 50Mb.
Really awesome... I already try it and I found it something special...

I find the phone has some unexpected good and bad points. I like the way the clock and phone status is always displayed on ext. display. I dislike the volume from the earpiece. I found the voume is too soft and inconsistent (even at full volume) Does anybody else have the same problem?
