Samsung's $99 Gear VR is headed to T-Mobile on November 27
Samsung's newest virtual reality headset (which confusingly is called Gear VR just like its past two models) has gone up for pre-order a few days ago. This 'consumer edition' as the Korean company likes to refer to it is the cheapest Gear VR yet, going for only $99.
It will be out on November 20 at some online retailers, but what if you want to pick one up from a carrier? Even if it's really not clear why you'd want to do that, T-Mobile will happily oblige.
The magenta carrier has announced that it will have the Gear VR in stock starting on November 27. It will be priced at, you guessed it, $99. It will be offered through "participating stores" (read: not all), as well as online. But you probably shouldn't hope to buy it using one of those famous "Un-carrier" installment plans.
One final note: the Gear VR is only compatible with Samsung's latest flagships, the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note5. If you don't have one of these devices, you simply won't be able to use the headset.
