Hey mik,thx for ur help. but one problem is where can i find this legal vresion with only 20sec song? I tried to trim the song myself using a audio program, but after i saved it and transfer it to my phone it read as an illegal song. pls help

not one of sharps best i have to say the text is really a large fault in particular the font size when texting its tiny and cant be changed on a permenant basis. not really a patch on the gx 30 the poor mans 3g phone id say.

hey guys, my method is(and this works for everybody else too)...
1)find a legal music clip that has copyright (cuz the phone can tell). it doesnt have to be long. a few seconds is enough. lets say this file is called "A"
2)open your favourite song in itunes and convert it into AAC format. lets call this song "B"
3)send both to your phone using anyway you like (bluetooth, minisd...) but it has to be in phone memory, not minisd memory
4)assign "A" as ringtone. try it to make sure it works.
5)delete "A". rename your original "B" file into "A"
6)Ta-Da!

Hi, does anyone know how to assign a mp3 ringtone for SH 703? i got the japanese version too.. i can listen to mp3 but cant assign mp3 as a ringtone. Can anyone help me please?

i dont have a usb cable or a mini sd card(yet) and im wondering if i use WAP can i use the mp3? my friend sent me a mp3 from bluetooth and it doesnt work but does WAP work? or from a sms? or it has to be from the mini sd card?

mik, i have the japanese version too, my manual is in japanese and the last bit is in english but thats only the basics i got my from hk too

yes, it can use with hk networks. this phone is selling everywhere in hk.
my manual is in japanese, can you help me out boongs?

like i mean i only want to buy tranfer cable only, dont really want to buy a sd card. but if there is a option of downloading it? then thats fine too, dont want to use this phone as a mp3 player anymore, one mp3 as a ringtone is good enough.

Is there any way of transferring stuff on the phone without buying a mini sd card? i didnt know the phone didnt even come with a cable to transfer from, and i dont really want to buy a sd card, im happy to put a simple mp3 as my ringtone?

can i ask 703 owners a question?
when i listen to music with my headphones (ones that are included) is there a way to answer a phone call by not opening the phone? there is a button on the voice receiver of the handsfree, but mine doesnt work....or is it not supposed to work?

No, milk... the way that I did it didn't work. BUT, I did find a way to use mp3's as ringtones... what I did was instead of converting my files to AAC, I converted my shortened file to WAV, then to MMF(polyphonic ringtone file) and then it works. There IS loss of quality, but it's a ringtone. and I have the JAPANESE model, with the Disney OS and pre-given Disney backs, and you can't directly use mp3s.

hmm so playing mp3s is ok with no matter what phone version you got?
but ringtones you need to convert them to aac/mp4(only those 2?), have i got that right?

you can just put an mp3 file in the phone no problem. the conversion thing is only for people who want to put an mp3 file that does not have copyright for ringtone.
703shf is a japanese model for use in japan only

Does anyone has any info about the new 703 model that just came out recently, it is 703SHF. All i know is that you can use like a debit/credit card in many Japan stores but as far as function goes, any big changes or improvment?

hi, i read the comment before that japanese model that you dont need to worry about all this conversion and stuff? and that you can just transfer a mp3 into it, can anyone confirm this?

You have must ripped the files with Nero 6 or Nero 6.3 for make MP4 files. The files stay more small and the quality is perfect. For install the files for ringtones you must copy the file into the memory of phone, how?
Record the file in memomry card and after copy to the memory phone directely. If you use a music recorded in memory card, if you remove him for replace another card you lost the configuration. Is very simply.
This phone is espactacular. Very good display, very fast, very simply to use, beautiful, small, very good network signal (mutch better any nokia, and i speek whit knowing), very good music player ( the earphones is serving). Beefore this phone i had the 903 and the unic diference is the 2,4 inch of display and the camera megapixels. The rest is the same. No diference. Enjoy him.
