to mik
is your mp3 higher than 192bitrate? or is it in vbr? that could be the reason why it won't play. so far, i don't have any problem with my mp3s if i keep it within 192bitrate.

I'd bought the SX313 version of the 703 in Hong Kong and is using this in the US. However, I am having problem using the URL to go online. Does anyone have any suggestion? Do I need to setup my WAP? Is my internet setting incorrect?

Hi, I have a Sharp 903 and i can tell you that this Sharp 703 aint a poor mans 3g!!! this little puppy rocks the world 3g, it gives the Samsung Z500 a run for it's money, I think that this phone is the next best thing from the 903, if 903 didnt have a 3.2MP camera i would have this phone... Go 703 YOU ROCK!!!

Just to add that I create my own clips from mp3's using a freeware program called mp3splitter (first result on google). The tracks work fine as ringtones on my 703.

I have no problems assigning mp3 ringtones, I have a vodafone UK version bought when it was first released, so unless they have changed the copyright features in later software it should play ANY mp3 as a ringtone. The only thing you need to make sure is that the track has been saved to the phone memory. It will not let you assign any track or video that is on the memory card.
I hope this helps.

hi mik and everyone,
Yes, I can find some shops in HK that sells the japanese version with japanese manuals, but they have all been re-installed with the Chinese/English operating systems, ie. it cannot type japanese etc. They say the networks are only compatible with the Chinese/English operating systems since it is designed to interface with HK networks and specific services.
Mik... does your phone lets you type japanese??
Thank you.

any legal, copyrighted mp3 can be used for ringtone. my method is only for if you want to put a song in there that you downloaded yourself via bt or other ways. if you still want, i can post up my file for you.
