ur correct blink. the correct home for the proxy settings should be http://wap.smart.com.ph . also, double check on the port number. smart will give you 9201 as the port number because it works for most phones, however, for some phones like nokia and this phone port number should be at 8080. just follow the instructions i posted step by step. be careful that you follow them all just exactly as it is.
to everyone (smart subcribers), if ur still having problems, i suggest that you erase any internet settings or mms settings that has been set to the phone and just manually configure the settings urself instead using the instructions i posted.
just be patient with some of its weaknesses. instead, enjoy its good features like good screen display, 1.3mp camera, music player.
as far as i know, only sharp has manufatured the best screen for mobile phones. that is something u shld be proud of with ur 802 huh. you can also check with some earlier posts here so u will learn how to enjoy its features. i really love this phone i even upgraded to 903 even if i have to edit manually the settings.hehe.

by the way marc, this is the settings that SMART provided for my phone. pls. take note of the url and port number. shouldnt it hav a .com before the .ph? and also look at the access point. APN:9201?

ayaw pa rin pare....i already txted to 333 and it ses the services are already activated. all i get is "did not complete" when i send an mms. what the heck is wrong with my phone???....or should i wait a while longer before trying to send again an mms? pero just the same pare, all praises pa rin sa yo for lending sometime typing the settings.thank you very much.

Thanks for the reply. It seems that I am having prob with GPRS and MMS, coz I cant connect to GPRS and MMS despite having the right setting on phone.

brought my phone to a smart center. had them configured it cause its so confusing for me if ill edit it myself. got my gprs/mms activated. but the problem remains the same...still cant send nor receive mms. what seems to be the problem? my phone was bought in japan. once a globe subscriber, i did what pilipino did, bringing my phone to a globe center but no luck (they just said the phone is not supported) so i had to switch to smart. a little help from you maybe?...pls.

Hi I saw someone posting about the mp3 ring tones so here is what i do.
I tried to look for the solution but i never found. so what i do is i convert the mp3 to wav. file and cut it short and convert that file to smaf. you can find those programs on the internet for free! maybe this could help someone.

sorry jane but i dont have the 802 now. i just currently upgraded my phone to 903.
anyway, how does the software affect the phone performance? do u have problems with sending/receiving MMS or using GPRS?

mine's globe, brought it to a globe center and they were able to set-up the gprs/mms configuration (for free). one more thing pare, how 'bout java, pwede na mag download?

hi guys!! i'm from the philippines and i was able to set up, activate and use gprs and mms with this phone. just contact your network provider about the settings. you cannot download the settings over the air so you have to edit it manually. go to CONNECTIVITY menu, then go to INTERNET SETTINGS and then you can do the editting there yourself. just make sure that you have all setting details from your service provider.

According to my handphone supplier, it IS confirmed to be a firmware bug.
By flashing it you can solve the problem. I am going to get it flashed next year January.
I'll tell you what is the lastest firmware later, drop me an email k.

Hey, I just did some snooping around, and apparently it's a firmware bug. This can be fixed by flashing to the latest firmware. But how do we know what the latest firmware is?
