    nice phone, although the protruding part at the top is kinda awkward. i have a question about the bluetooth function though...

    what can you do about that? can you send the java games to other bluetooth enabled phones? send mp3's? send pictures? how about receiving through blue tooth.

        CALLER ID
        =========

        There are two (maybe more) reasons for why a number cannot show on your phone:

        - The caller does not permit to show his number
        - The call is made from a land-line or mobile outside of your area or country

        If it happens to all of your contacts, and they do not show when they call then check whether you have activate the "Display Call Info".

        You can find this in:

        "Settings" > "Call Settings" > "Display Call Info"

        If you still have trouble with the feature you should contact your Service Provider to enable this on your account (sometimes necessary) or give you further information.

          hi! i got this phone 2 weeks ago...i admire the phone for its very clear pics. But i got a problem with its register. I could easily know when somebody sends me SMS but if the same person calls me it just all goes back to numbers no caller ID. This is giving me a hard time since i always ask the caller who he is and i always apologize for it. please help thanks.

            GPRS & MMS
            ===========

            As I mentioned before, it is NOT the firmware that restricts access to the GPRS NETWORK!
            I have used Vodafone & Telstra.

            On Telstra:

            My Phone DOES NOT display the Error Message. It cannot connect to the network though.

            On Vodafone:

            The Error Message appears and cannot connect to the network.

            Reasons for this:
            Every network has a "white list" of phones allowed on the network. A "white list" makes sure that each phone is tested and compatible with the network configurations, and doesn't risk the performance of the network in anyway (or the actual phone).

            So if your phone is not allowed access to the network, it is due to NETWORK RESTRICTIONS rather than the phone itself.

            Speak to your network provider about your V802SH. If Vodafone 3G is available in your area it does not mean that your 802SH will work!!!

            The 802SH is exclusive (only available and usable) in Japan and there is no guarantee that any Network provider will bother to add it to the network.

            Vodafone Branding
            ==================

            No, the network message cannot be removed from your screen. It's called Marketing...

              Hi,

              I am wondering of there is a way to remove the operator logo on the phone, so it doesn't display Vodafone, Optus, etc etc.

              Thanks

                Hi,
                Any one knows if this software version
                1.4M EMP:U100 4.0
                OW:7.0.2.1.109a
                APLIX 1.31
                can be used to allow GPRS and MMS access?

                Just got the phone, but unable to use the GPRS or the MMS services, despite the relevant setting from my local telcom.
                Error msg:"Internet services not enabled"

                Any resolution to that?
                Thanks.

                  THEMES & CUSTOMIZATION
                  ======================

                  Unfortunately the 802SH cannot be customized in terms of color. You've got a broad choice of ringtones & ring-videos that you can set, but the menu is static.
                  Backgrounds can be FlashLite, though the implementation of that needs a bit of improvement (faster processor speed, better rendering, full screen etc.)

                  This phone isn't really meant to be "trendy", but a showcase for its technological advances.

                  cheers,

                  Skater42

                        nice phone! a real value for money! only downside is its size. kinda bulky, with extra edges.

                          T-MOBILE & OTHER PROVIDERS
                          ==========================

                          First of all make sure that the settings you have are correct.

                          Most likely this will not matter though since this phone is exclusive to Vodafone Japan.
                          Ask T-Mobile if this handset is/can be added to the "white list" on their network. If the phone is not approved by the network (this goes for ANY network), the server will not allow the 802SH to access the network.

                          You would not be able to access T-Zones even if you would receive GPRS, the phone software is not set-up for this. There is no alternative T-Mobile Software since this phone is a VODAFONE exclusive and only is meant to use Vodafone Live!.

                          This is not a fault of the phone, but a limitation by the network provider.

                            I got this phone about 3weeks ago, and it's working pretty good.
                            I've never had t-zone on my previous phones,
                            so i just added t-zone on my phone, but it's not working cuz i have to set it up...
                            I went o t-mobile site, and found all the IP address or more stuff.
                            But i don't know how to set it up.
                            can someone help me with setting?
                            otherwise i can't send any MMS and can't use the internet....
                            Please help me!!!!

                              Nope,

                              No i-Mode, "only" Vodafone Live! and broadband internet access.

                              No real difference anyway...Vodafone Live! offers a lot.

                                  DIRTY LENSES & SCREENS
                                  =======================

                                  Ok, for a dirty screen or a dirty lense the best "tool" to use is this tissue you use for glasses and binoculars. It's got this really fine "ribbed" texture that get's rid of pretty much every streak...

                                  Scary thing...I carry it around all day too. *sigh*
