Hi there.
i just want to know wich version do you think its better, the japanese one, or the european one? and why?
hope you can help me

also, does the japanese one have unlocked mp3 player?

    I don't know why the T-zone setting doesn't work on my 902 (European version). I'll try it on a Japanese version which I will be getting soon. We need CDMA here! iMode! GSM is too narrow banded, too slow!

        well, thanks for the setting, I am able to use tzone and playing the the wap, but here I ran into a big problem, I could recieve sms text msg, but for some how I try everything and it doesnt let me send sms txt, it always said incomplete can somebody help me with this problem. thanks

          The setting for the T-zone. I still get "Live.Vodafone.Com" and that's it, I can't do anything. Maybe 902 is not capable of accessing T-zone.

              The DCIM on the SD card is specially made to store pictures taken on a Japanese 902SH and not on the European 902. The European 902 does not have a DCIM file, everything goes into "data folder" and then to "pictures".
              You can record MP3 onto the "data folder" under "sounds&ringtones", just use the software that came with the handset and get the cable and transfer MP3 to "sound&rongtone" file. good luck!

                i was able to set up the 902 to access tzones
                the settings are as follows:
                Proxy settings

                Create new
                Proxy Name: tzones
                Proxy Address: 216.155.165.050
                Access point: tzones
                home: http://wap.voicestream.com
                Port Number: 8080
                Authentication type: HTTP-Digest or Basic (does not matter)
                User Name: none (dont type anything)
                Password: none

                ACCESS POINT

                create new
                Access point name: tzones
                APN: wap.voiestream.com
                Authentication type: None
                User name: user
                Password: 9999
                DNS: -
                Linger Time: 180

                make sure you save the info that you input every time.

                with that you can access yahoo.com and other wap sites. it does support xhtml and therefore if the sites are not designed for wap you can not access them.
                Maybe there is a way but i got this far only.

                  hallo

                  i got the 902 from japan and i have some problems with it.
                  The biggest problem is that everytime i access the main menu there is a message "Re-provisioning" that comes out asking to update. How can i eliminate this ?
                  And on the SD card what does DCIM mean?
                  The phone is sold as mp3 palyer but no mp3 can be played. Any solutions?
                  Any help is welcome. Thanx.

                    Hey achan, I live in Hawaii and have 3 902's. One still has contract with Vodafone Japan (with 090 xxxx xxxx number) and on a Global Calling Plan for 540 yen a a month, the other is a unlocked European model which is locking up on me now days... And another is an recent unlocked model from Japan which I still haven't used much so I don't know of any existing problem. There is a slight difference between European and Japanese version, expecially the "Medial Player" which the European version does not have "SD AUDIO" option, but you can record and play music under "data folder" under "sounds $ ringtone" if you record in MP3 format onto the SD card.
                    I'm also having problem going on T-zone. I guess no one has figured out the setting for T-mobile T-zone access for the 902... It's very hard with Proxy and other settings... Regarding ringtones, i've tried MP3 and it won't work, it has to be in MIDI format.
                    Let me know if you find a way to get on T-zone!

                        I think its a graet phone with loads on it.i use to have the gx20.the only problem with this phone is that it is quite hard to use compared to the gx20.the manual is bad and there does not seem to be anyone in vodafone or shap who will answer my questions on how to use certain functions.is there anyone who knows where you can ask someone some simple questions about the phone????

                          I Think this is such a cool phone and i'm able to get an upgrade quite soon(free phone on contract)and i was thinking of geting this one but i need to know what the mp3 playas like...does it have fast foward and rewind? also is the camera good quality. PLEASE awnser the questions on the this site not on my email because it is not working

                            I have a Japanese 902 in Hawaii too! BUT yea, I can't get the internet to work as well. My provider is AT&T/Cingular but I'm guessing T-Mobile doesn't work either huh? I was asking around many forums but no one seems to know...

                                I'm not sure but, I have a unlocked Japanese 902 in Hawaii and actually I'm having problems myself trying to get MP3 ringtones myself. The basic functions of my phone work but, anything dealing with the internet doesn't seem to function. I just recently switched my account to T-mobile but can't seem to get the t-zones internet browser off the ground if you or anyone out there would know of a solution I would be much obliged

                                    ;m facing some problem with my 902sh now. how am i suppose to transfer the mp3 in dorder to make it playable in the phone? and also i have been trying to connect the HANDSET MANAGER software with my phone using bluetooth, but the software appears not connected to my phone althought my phone BT has connected with the PC. any idea how to solve this problems

                                      as far as the handset code goes if you didn't alter the pin code of the phone it should be 9999

                                        i have been tryoign to upload a picture form my com to the 902, but my phone is asking "HANDSET CODE" which i really dont know what is the code
