SIZE

Ok, so I think you guys need to make up your minds. I wouldn't consider this phone "big". 10 cm's for a phone like THIS is a decent size and fits well into the palm. Good buttons, huge screen...if you want quality then you gotta accept this size. I mean, how much smaller can it be with a 320x240 px screen? And the camera and stuff need some space too.
Compared to other UMTS phones, this one does well.

If you want small phones, then just go for regular GSM phones like Samsung makes them. 128x160 screen etc. etc....but for this UMTS high-end phone don't expect much smaller.

        the phoen is pretty good but i think it is way to thick and big i alreadyt hing GX30 was big. I reckon they should start making smaller phones like me K700i i really like is it really good. Gx30 and 7610 dont even coem close to K700i

              902 and 802 will be available in Japan pretty soon around end of November or beginning of December. Remember it is a "locked" phone and you cannot take it outside Japan and use it unless you are using Vodafone roaming service (which is expensive). It states UMTS/GSM900/1800/1900, but only available through Vodafone and will accept ONLY Vodafone USIM card.

                        Sharp just came out with a 8 megapixel CCD. It'll be just a little while more until a 8MP camera phone will be out! check out www.sharp.co.jp/corporate/news/041026-a.html

                          Ok, the SHARP 902, 802, GX30 etc. are all EXCLUSIVE to Vodafone. The 902 & 802 to Vodafone UMTS.
                          So unless Vodafone has set-up a Vodafone UMTS network or agreement with a local provider in your country you will not be able to get the phones. They will be locked to Vodafone UMTS (also work on Vodafone GSM) and only operate on a Vodafone USIM.
                          So far the phones will be introduced to Europe (UK, Germany, Switzerland etc.) and Japan. I'm not aware of which other countries have a current Vodafone UMTS network.
                          The phone will not be Available to Australia for now, but I'm still hoping that Vodafone & Optus get their act together and hurry up.

                              It's suck if can't. And sucker to see s700 can.
                              Oh, i live in indonesia. Got a gx30 with vodafone software. The problem is it's useless here. Why dont they let me access their stuff use gprs access? Charge me. Or whatever. Just let me access their stuff!

                                Well good for you MR., if you're so advanced you won't mind to share with the world, will you?
                                So far I'm in doubt...but please tell me more about the "future".

                                Half "ass" information? I'm a Vodafone Customer... either I like it or I don't. And I find it OK...what more do I need to know to form my own opinion? I guess the customers are the one's bringing in the money, aren't we?

                                What are all those "engineers" doing in here anyways? If you DO know so much about the future phones...then share. Or are you just here to prove yourself smart? I don't have the pleasure to work for Vodafone, so excuse my stupidity.

                                    another thing skater42, I test prototypes of cell phone like the 902, 802, etc. it's old stuff for me. I'm testing a 6 MP UMTS/GSM with fiber optic link, other features right know, so I know what's coming out in the future.

                                      skater42, yes i'm an US citizen, but born in Japan and I travel between US, Japan and Europe due to R&D type of work for two-way RF system (cell sites), so I know Vodafone and other system OK, better than you, it's my job that pays my salary so I don't get the kind of half ass informaiton like you do

                                        Hey there,

                                        well, the other day I tested Kuni's Sanyo again...and of course, the software isn't Red/White. It's pretty shmick..., but still, The Vodafone start-up, Vodafone-Live! Symbols tell me that Vodafone had it's fingers in there. And I know, you're not denying that. But Sanyo's own software is of no better use than Vodafones...it just looks better.

                                        But you're right, that's a bit off the topic here. So, I haven't found any new updates on what's happening with the 902. Only know its due in Europe this Month (November actually).
                                        Australia will have to wait a bit longer though... Optus and Vodafone are working together to get their network up and running. They should be finished by the end of 2005 (!!), so until then the 902 is totally outdated anyways. So unless you can unlock the European/Japanese Versions to work with a normal SIM-Card...you'll have to wait a bit longer.
