Hi Everyone, I got my Sharp Music Remote. and it's AWESOME!!!!! It lights up 3 different colours, Red (same colour of the keypad) when in standby, Green when getting a message and blue when recieving a phone call. It has a long LCD screan on it and it says the name of the song playing and when you get a text it says the sender name, the time and the reception and the battery level. It lets me plug in a normal 3.5ML earphone jack. It's VERY VERY cool, A sharp MUST HAVE accessory. Model number is ZTCJ01 if any of you want to look into geting one.

got the 903 to play high quality asf files. i was being an idiot and not looking in the entertainment sd video folder. duh. i am using a programme called 3gp_converter032 to make asf files.the programme uses asf+G.726. i use this setting to convert avi to asf.the picture is spot on but if you plug phone into tv using video lead supplied you notice a drop in quality and the frame rate is to slow. What is the maximum frame rate and bit rate for video that the 903 can handle? i want to push this phone to the limit. you can download the video converter at http://www.nurs.or.jp/~calcium/3gpp/. just click 3gp_converter032.zip to download. its hard to type drunk ha ha

Hi Timmy. I haven't tried streaming on V/live as I wouldn't pay vodafone for anything that I can get free from the internet. I think Voda all over the world has the same products though different formats. But anyway, I'm glad that your loyalty to 903 is as intact as mine. Do continue sharing good stuffs

Hi Reno: I think it is the format of file that Vodafone NZ dowloads it as (.dcf) Also in NZ we have free starterpack on new 3G connections. So because id used mine all up i sliped in my old pay as you go sim and used the free starterpack to download all new videos and MP3's. when i put my on account sim card back in the phone it and when to play the file it said that their was no permission cert on this file and it cant be played. When i slip the Pay as u go sim back into the phone it will let me play the files but now the ones that i downloaded off my on account sim!!!! Skeakey ol Vodafone again ehh??? I thought i had them wrapped round my lil finger!!!! Turns out i didnt!!!
O well. this dosnt meen i dont still like my Sharp 903!!!! Also do you guys have Bro Town on your Vlive Streaming?? In NZ we do and it's SOOOOO cool off the Sharp 903. all other models like 6680 and V800 arnt as good!! You just CANT beat Sharp i guess!!

And to complete my very long story, insert your memory card on the card reader(connected to the computer), then from My Pictures folder copy the MOL001.asf file to the SD_Video-->PRL001 folder. Then insert the card into your phone and you should be able to it on Entertainment-->TV & Video.

To fish. You have to create an "SD_Video" directory on your mini SD memory card. You can do that by your computer with the mem card inserted into your card reader which is connected to your computer. When u open the C: directory, u'll see the removable drive G: which is the card reader. Open that drive and click "make a new folder" in the left pane. Name that folder SD_Video. There should be 2 folders now on that G: drive(Vodafone + SD_Video). Inside the SD_Video, create another folder(PRL001)where all your video should go. When I record an asf video, it automatically goes to the SD_Video folder and automatically renamed MOL00X(where X means "any"). But the phone will warn u that the video would be saved to the SD_Video on the memory card in the first place. My phone can record both 3GP and ASF and played on the SD_Video option by way of the Entertainment-->TV & Video option with no problems. I haven't tried to play on the Video player fuction. On playing your converted avi to asf using MOVIESTAGE, I think it is for 902. I think 903 can only read asf files converted by MEDIASTAGE for AV 100 (D-Snap) program. And your avi files should be converted by the FlaskMPEG to be read by MEDIASTAGE. At times even it is by FlaskMPEG still MEDIASTAGE wouldn't accept. You have to go back and reconfigure the settings on FlaskMPEG. FlaskMPEG converted files(Flask.avi) go by default to C: directory. Drag and drop that file on the opened Mediastage and once it's accepted jsut click convert. By default the asf file will go to My Pictures which will appear as flask_000 or flask(copy)_000. You have to rename that file to MOL001. These added a few wrinkles on my forehead before I got it finally going. It is really nice to be the envy of evryone. Do you want it easier? Buy the program of "commanderspike" on eBay UK. It's there all the time. I wouldn't see you asking questions again in here and you really will enjoy it. Bye fish

To Mafalda. Have a look at your "message center numbers". Ask your service provider. They might be able to help you with that.

Hi Timmy. The phone memory has a very small capacity. Try move some of your files one by one to your Memory card through the "move" function on the "Advanced" option. My phone memory cannot store more than 2 full MP3 song plus some photos. It always say the same message-file status or memory status when I store a big file like an MP3. I'm sure it's something about capacity of the phome memory rather than file type. You shouldn't have any problem with card memory capacity for a 1GB card. My card carries a DVD movie + 4 music videos + 60 MP3s and loads of photos. No probs.

To New 903sh user (and also to anybody who can help me):

Thanks for your comment. If SMS works both ways with Rogers, it should definitely work with Fido then. We're sort of on the same network and benefit the same functions.

I decided to flash the phone and remained with the japanese version, having checked the differences between all versions. Doing so removed all bugs that were widely described on this forum and was well worth the $30 or so that I paid for that.

However, I still cannot receive any SMS messages, although I can send them. I was told at this point that it is probably a configuration problem on my phone. Anybody knows anything about that? I will go to Fido with my phone, but I'm afraid they won't be of much help as they do not support that phone. Anyway, I'll keep you posted in case it could help other people.

                                Thanks!

Hi Reno, It still wont let me it says "could not move file, please check file status or Memory Status. I have a 1G miniSD and it's not full!! I have the same version of S/W as you now as i had my phone flashed into Euro S/W insted of the SX833 S/W which was going to cost me $160. Euro only cost me $60!!!! I am STOKED with this phone. At 1st i hated it with Jap S/W but with Euro... WHOOOA!!!! Very very very cool phone. Also, youve not experienced sound quality unless youve tried Sharp LCD Music Remote!!!! This lets you use 3.5ML earphone jack which is better. The earphones that come in the box are crap!!
