i dont think sharp and all those japanese so-called k-tae phone can be made available to other countries coz their phones are made only for japanese market. And right now they are paying a heavy price for that coz only they can use it and japanese market is shrinking.

They wanted yo enter past year in Europe, but they failed because of the recession! They can and they will beat every other mobile phone makers, inclusive Nokia will be beaten. :) Sharp said they will enter in Europe with smartphones, like Toshiba does with the Tg01. :) Fujitsu and Panasonic too intend to enter in global markets! The upcoming years will be interesting, very interesting! If we talk about Sharp, they are the BEST in camera phones, and they are the best in screen technology, they announced the first XGA screen phone in 2008 October!!! What do you think? :D

why do people always insist the word JAPANESE when they heard a Japanese brand? So Funny.. They Didn't even know that those European and American brands also uses Japanese technology and also Korean... Such as Nokia and Motorola. Many Korean and Japanese Semi Conductor Companies Are actually Designing and Manufacturing IC's for those brands... So weird.

BTW, the Fone looks Good! I want to own 1... I want green.

I hope this phone is available in australia. I still have a sharp 903 and is leaps and bounds better than any nokia that I have ever owned. I have owned the N95, N79 and N82. Even the sharp gx 25 that I owned is better then nokia. I know that Japan gets all the good stuff but why not the rest of the world.

docomodake, 29 Dec 2009I think everyone would appreciate them selling their phones... moreThat's what I am talking about EXACTLY. Of course the non-Japanese versions of keitais should have adaptions that are suitable for other markets such as Wi-Fi instead of One-Seg and higher capacity batteries instead of ~790mAh batteries as well as mp3 support...etc.

You can't enter a market unless you are willing to do spend effort and you will be rewarded based on this effort. For example, Sharp should expected us to be impressed and willing to buy downgraded versions phones with outdated specs. That's not the market they are supposed to play in and it is already filled. Anyway, I am still waiting for something decent and up-to-date.

By the way, are you one of HoFo members?
