Cobra , 21 Dec 2009In my opinion, they should. Well, the most important thing ... moreI think everyone would appreciate them selling their phones in a different market other than their own but the cost of manufacturing has to be in play and along with the demographics in the market that would want to dish out money for such devices just doesn't exist in many regions.
Statistics have shown that the phone gurus only account for less than 2% in many areas that you would think that has more people wanting for these new devices. With percentages that low, I can see why the manufacture doesn't even wanna budge or move their plans anywhere else.
Another thing I've noticed is these Japanaese phones have the battery optimized for use on 3G networks. If you drop the phone back to 2G, the battery drops like flies. Getting nearly every country an up and running 3G network that is stable would be the bigger challenge.

Cobra , 21 Dec 2009In my opinion, they should. Well, the most important thing ... moreYou are right man, there are many people who like Japanese phones a lot, they are the leading companies in camera and screen technology. Sharp eg has a 4 inch XGA screen phone! XGA is used on Laptops!!! It is uesd on Laptops! Can you see the difference between Nokia and Sharp! Sharp is focusing a lot on their screens size, screen quality, and camera features, as Nokia is focusing on the UI, on the applications. When Sharp and Fujitsu, and Panasonic will focus on the OS, and on the UI and applications, Nokia will fear like a small cat, you will see it! Because of this recession they don't entered in the global markets. I don't really believe they will use their designs. They will use the European stlye, if they will move to Europe for eg. On MWC(Mobile World Congress) they maybe will announce some high-end smartphones for Europe! I can't wait till February! :)
Actually I am a SE fan, but I like Nokia too!

Mobilemaster, 21 Dec 2009Hi Cobra!
I want you to know Sharp probably will NOT ent... moreIn my opinion, they should. Well, the most important thing is the up-to-date hardware such as CCD cameras and displays. SHARP hasn't even tried "properly" or "aggressively". Everybody is actually impressed by their phones and would buy them if they were available. They should release phones aggressively and release many of the "news one" not downgraded versions of some of their old phones. And continue to release more every season even if they don't make a quick start, which is natural. That is what they should do if they want to enter the market seriously. I am waiting for them. The mobile phones manufacturers are producing overpriced phones with outdated features and the OS & UI rubbish doesn't justify the price. The difference between mobile phones manufactures and Japanese manufacturers is that the Japanese manufacturers are "electronics manufactures", so it is about hardware.
The Japanese producers and manufactures have proven themselves in many industries such as cars, video games, electronics, anime & manga ...etc. Those things are globally excepted and a global phenomenon now. It is really disappointing that they seem to be selfish and haven't even tried seriously in the mobile phones industry. The market has changed, the phones have become more advanced and the people are not insisting on buying Nokia anymore. The Japanese people are not as amazing as they used to be and I can't believe they are letting the Koreans , who are still inferior in the electronics industry IMO, play around and still just watching.
I am writing this as a cars fan, hardcore gamer and mobile phones expert. I want the Japanese manufacturers to prove themselves in this market and I would be happy if they did because the make the best phones.
As for Toshiba, I don't really care about them. Their Softbank phones are average and they only have a few.
SHARP, Fujitsu, NEC and Panasonic said they will release phones overseas. I have been waiting for this and I have waited for years already. My hope is that they release phones with Japanese standards in terms of hardware and quality.

I want you to know Sharp probably will NOT enter with their design's in Europe or in other parts of the world, because they have no luck with them. I can't understand those people who don't like their designs! Toshiba has entered in the European markets right? So now is Sharp's turn! :)

Mobilemaster, 13 Dec 2009Hi Arak!
Sharp is the MOST advanced in mobile technology... more@Mobilemaster
I am actually disappointed because of what SHARP is doing. They are still hesitating to move overseas and they only bring a few phones that are two seasons late to China and Taiwan.
If they really want to expand they have to release many new phones with the same design, specs and quality as the Japanese ones. As I said, "new phones" not late comers.
The new Softbank and DoCoMo phones for this season are very impressive with 12 megapixel CCD cameras and big screens and nice designs as usual.

i bough my first double cassette Audio tape with a radio in 1985 and it was Sharp, model QT-77 , that time there was no Samsung and LG in our markets.
Sony was a potential competitor as well as AIWA and Pioneer...
Now we can see that Sharp is still here with beautiful innovationa and quality products..
I wish that Sharp will enter our markets as it used to be 25 years ago , and i never understood why Sharp have become so low profile and not as agressive as before .
if it happens that Sharp is back , I will be the first to switch to Sharp mobile phones and stick to it since I know that here we shall have endurance and quality and we shall not have so many complications as the other companies have .
And in this mobile Sharp have put to segments of its froefront technologies , 1- the screen and 2- Solar panel... be aware that Sharp has a lion share in solar panels in the world and I am happy that they have introduces them in their mobile phone ..
finally I can see here a simple and quality product that is all we need in today s world to do our work
