These phones are tailor-made for Softbank, the Japanese carrier. It contains too much specific electronics that would not work overseas such as mobile wallet, TV tuner and such. In order to re-engineer the phone to sell overseas, it would involve more effort than it's worth.
I personally own a SH906i, using it with Rogers, so I have firsthand experience with the awesomeness of Sharp mobile phones. It's definitely worth it.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2010What OS does it use though?I think Java, but I am not 100% sure. All the Ntt Docomo phones are smartphones! Fujitsu and SHarp use Symbian OS, Nec and Panasonic Linux OS.

wow sharp make best lcd panel but best maker in lcd word is sony becuse sony buy his panel from sharp and i see amazing rezoltion in phone mobile from sharp godd sharp

Too bad this phones are limited to japanese market only.I like this phone if it ever be availible in europe i will by it for sure!

sounds like a really good handset, i haven't had any experience with sharp's mobile handsets but it looks like a stand up cell phone. the cpu and the os is not detailed so that leaves me with a big question mark and if this device had a slide out qwerty keyboard i would die to have this phone.

Incredible phone...it has a lack though...Videocamera and radio.I wonder if he gets to Europe...I hope it does!

It's not that Sharp doesn't know how to market phones. It's that this phone is limited to Japanese market only. They don't want to sell it overseas.

great phone with great features but sharp don't seem to know how to market their phones. seriously, how many countries sell this phone. sharp appliances are everywhere like samsung and lg and yet they can't sell this phone like the koreans. i wonder why?

Guys believe me Sharp is the BEST mobile phone maker in the world! There are NO one can make a 4inch XGA screen phone!!! No one, and this is the second XGA Sharp phone for Softbank!
