this is what I am after it ticks all boxes and is compact which is what I am after. Hope they release it to west.

quite good phone actually (the back phone design is pretty simple for me which is good for me), if only they remove notch and add bezel upper and down screen for stereo speaker like pixel 3 (they can place side-mounted fingerprint reader), also make battery can be removeable with polycarbonated or kevlar back (dont care about water proff/resist), and bigger battery like 2800/3000mah

This is the perfect size for a phone,all the big brand out there should provide the phone with this size. The specification and the size make the notch a little bit "forgiven". Unfortunatelly this phone just for Japan only. Hope they can launch it globally......someday.

I see no reason for
Adding theese ugly notches.
Above 9mm thickness seems too much and bulky.

Add... more9mm is what Sony should have done with the XZ2 Compact instead of the somewhat "thick" 12mm curved back.
And yes, Sharp really nails it. This R2 Compact is 4mm shorter than the XZ2 Compact while boasting bigger 5.2" display (regardless of the notches). So yeah, no matter if some people "insist" this is not a compact phone, at least it's still more "compact" than the XZ2C.

Specifications has some errors. If it has PD 2.0, then it's USB 3.1. PD 2.0 is a part of USB 3.1 specification.

5,2 inch in such small body? Intriguing. Double notch seems kinda meh but im very pleased that compact smartphones are still a thing.
