Anonymous, 16 Dec 2023weid what warranty has anything to do with this kind of pro... moreif you had warranty, at the very least you would have less trouble. if you bought the phone officially, you would've some options if there's a problem. there's this thing called customer services. if the phone had problems and you went to sharp and then sharp just denied your customer right. then it's totally fine to trash sharp. so where and when did you buy your phone? samsung also have problem with their screen, most are the green tint issues, and guess what, not plenty of people bitching about it to samsung because most people bought the phone officially, if you had those problem,and your phone out of warranty,you could easily replace your phone's screen at samsung service. can you even go to your sharp distributor and complaint about your phone or asking for them to repair it?
you bought the phone pretty much in black market, and then the phone have issues, and your conclussion it's sharp fault...pathetic

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2023have you ever consider buying a brand new phone with warran... moreweid what warranty has anything to do with this kind of problem . yes the phone is old and the warranty is dead. but it doesnt mean the phone need to self destruct a second after the warranty is over . look at the old samsung . i dont see the phone like s note 10 gone rouge like r5g .the phone work preety fine . and about the software issue, it is the sharp fault , no denyying it it fully their responsibility to not make a android update that will nuke their own device . how even the head developer of sharp even approve this kind of shit . it almost look like their doenst even do some testing and put some base android 12 and doest even check if the phone even compatible with the update .

its not, 26 Nov 2023why a customer buy this device its not upgraded to Android ... morethe phone released in 2020, i've never seen 2020 phones with android 12. when did you buy your phone? did you buy it straight from docomo?softbank?rakuten and stuff? pretty sure it have 2 years contracts from those providers, most likely ended up with 2 years warranty. even samsung s21fe have 2 years warranty in australia

Here I have docomo R5 with Android version 11 but its display from the top of the right of the camera is not working.
11,12 both version are do missing at the screen what we can do now.

the issue happens when you update the device which you don't do on a mobile shop ,at that time its all ready too late , even if you return the device the shop keeper cut percentage for return (40%)
so, no customer is not incompetent, he check everything, it's the company who delivers software updates that brick the display.
have you ever face this issue or you just riding the train just for the sake of replying to a comment that you found offensive
like literally every model of Aquos R5G and Re has faulty display so customer is responsible for that
what a great thinking you had my friend, Ever considered making better display

japan is free trade nation, meaning they're leaning to the market, their government is not putting any severe restrictions on their economy unless it's risking their national security. and their consumer protection law still pretty much decent, not at the very highest level but still decent like having some kind of warranty.

so either japan custom department is highly incompetent to allow thousands of these faulty phone exported to other country or they are very well involved in this.
I'm saying it because i lost 600$ on two of these phones, that i save for 1 year so no amount of explanation that japan phone companies aren't involved in this can redo it.
& Don't put blame on China or Any other country, Aquos made these faulty phone and they are responsible for this loss of people & karma will hit them one day.
Japan export faulty phone to the world & Aquos display quality is worst , i say it openly.

I know because I look into Alibaba / Aliexpress and they have refurbished phones with Japanese Serial Number / Specs.
No, they're not legal. I know because in my country you have to register the IMEI to the government server. Now, there are some legal seller but they're expensive.
Now, if you want to buy used / second hand / new Japanese phones, you have to use proxy services / forwarder. I buy phones directly from Japan and it's completely safe and legal and it works for 3 years now.
These days all of Japanese phones are unlocked because Japanese govt issued a bill that Japanese Mobile Companies have to unlock their phones to other network.
Hope this help for people who want to buy Japanese Phones

Dead touchscreen is like a default faulty with R5G. Even the ones which still in Japan, they're so many phones have this issue. And the area of dead are the same: Top and Bottom.

The problem (real problem) is that they messed up the resolution on the device ,so after update some part of touch screen stop working, I will suggest buying a new device (I know it's hard especially in our country you know,but that's a hard choice you need to do) , because i have replaced the entire touch panel (order from AliExpress) but the touch problem return after 2 week's of replacing it , but if you still want to use the device and have no option then there are 2 option
if You're using this device for gaming only ,they buy a gamepad and play games using gamepad (Emulator ) but some game ban you for using gamepad,so check it first .
2nd and last option,there is an app on playstore "Resolution Changer — Uses ADB" ,after installing this app on phone ,you need to install Adb on PC , i hope you at least know what adb is , after that you need to go into adb folder , press shift , open folder menu , click on open command window here , after adb is active (show your device) you need to type the command shown in the app , after you type the command ,this will give the app permission to change screen resolution.
after that take a screenshot of full screen ,crop the screenshot up to where the screen is working, (1440*2400 ) or something,i Don't remember exact resolution, out the resolution and click apply.
after that your screen will be Reduced to useable area only , the unusable area will always be black , but remember each day one more pixel will be dead on screen so you need to keep changing resolution per week.
but brother one day half screen will be useless, i hope you don't see that day ,but ,that day i have no solution.

Hello I'm the new gang of the sharp aquos r5g touch panel cannot be touch.
I have this phone about 9 months and suddenly this just without warning cannot be touch 😞. first it was at the top of the screen and couple of week later it the down screen.
I have. A few questions.
Are there new info of why this phone does this.
If so, can it be fix .
Is this a software issue or hardware issue.can someone from android 10 tell me if your phone have this kind of problems.
(I want to know if it's just some connector issue that can be fix without changing the whole screen)
