There are lots of posts on the latter 2, articles are a bit harder to find on Google as most will be in Japanese. I did find reviews with photos though on rentio.jp and dime.jp which you could try searching for.

      Are there sample pics from this phone? I couldn't find them on YT, just promo vids of the phone and fake photo comparisons between this and some iPhone

        Anyone knows if there will be any firmware updates that would allow for higher resolution video recording? Now apparently it tops out at 4k?

          AQOUS, 14 Jan 2025I realised that there is no Panoramic function on the phoneI've checked and you're right.

          The Leitz Phone 2 also seems to lack panorama function so this seems to be common to Sharp phones.

          I think I've used a panorama mode about twice so it's no biggie for me, but an interesting omission.

The majority of Etorens reviews online looked positive but there was the odd one or two relating to open boxes or wrong items that worried me slightly so it's nice to hear from someone who has actually used them.

              I have also been doing some research and saw that the international version has an "aquos Pro pix" camera system but like you said the specs seem the same as Leica... How have you found the cameras? Does the quality seem good?

                HypnoK, 13 Jan 2025Hey mate, also just bought this from Etoren, out of interes... moreHeya, etoren was great but my main criticism is the status updates actually! Mine stayed at "transferring" for a week, then pretty much a week after my order etoren updated the status as fulfilled and passed to the delivery company DPD. I then received a notification the same day I think from DPD that it was out for delivery, and received it a week after my order.

                As mentioned the version etoren send does not have Leica branding, and I've seen press releases with disclaimers that other markets may have different spec, but I believe it's pretty much the same phone. The Singapore marketing video (which excludes the Leica branding) is identical to the Japan one, and the Aquos app on the phone autolinks to Japan pages with Leica branding. A nice bonus is that a clear case is included as well as a Sharp UK 3 pin power plug. My phone was also sealed (I've seen reference to etoren opening some phones to check them but that didn't seem to be the case with mine!)

I just got mine from etoren which was about half the price of what they're going for on ebay. It's the international version without the Leica branding but seems the same hardware and camera app as far as I can tell from YouTube videos.

                          Edit - oops, sorry, you're referring to the 8 and not the 9!

                          Edit 2 - does anyone have the international version and know what esim might work to ensure it receives the lates updates? I've tried a UK and Japanese one unsuccessfully.

                            I found the price on eBay, direct shipping from Japan. I'm sure they're scalping but I don't have any other way to get it. What is your region btw? Can you look for R9 Pro?
