a... moreI understand your perspective and I think you want these Japanese comoanies to succeed because they do truly make great products.
But
I think we as consumers have a greater responsibility to recognise these products. Because let's be honest, there is a reason why there aren't many people here in this comment section for this specific phone. They are not looking for niche products like these. They are too distracted with marketing terma other brands like to throw around. This is one the reason why innovative brands like Lumia, LG and SONY (they're all over the plave with their phones but they try) got actually killed by the market. All the modern computational photography and quad bayer buzz words killed the essence of pure photography. And this may not be a popular opinion but I actually like the stubborn brands like Sharp exist because even if they don't make market appealing products, people like you and me have a platform to fall back on when mainstream brands do things like Apple's new camera button or fake Nokia (HMDs) weird Penta Camera array with sensors tinier than my little fingers nails. They won't sell in volumes but they will become legendary like the Lumia 1020 did.

as for marketing view, it's their ignorance for not carrying about big market, which is pretty much main reason for many big Japanese companies falling lately; yet, they are still making excuse as "focusing on local market" while true reason is that they just could not compete due to not being able to adopt and compete wisely.
If they are truly good about what they want to appeal (cameras & display for this case?), they've gotta be "real good" about it until everybody knows about it.

They make robust systems with deep manual control over the cameras available to the user. If you search for videos about R9 Pro, there's a 8 or 11 minutes long first look kind of video with a short segment in the camera app, this thing is a bridge between phone and some more serious point and shoot cameras with features that manual photographers like.
This was never meant to appeal to a general user, that's why they rarely go with the strongest SoC.
Oppo has decent cameras but that thing can't compete with this one in RAW manual performance or features. This thing caters to a more serious photographer instead of your regular "is it social media ready" kind of person.

Do they use their own components such as display and cameras?

Supposedly it's encrypted they say, but don't ya know that the server also has the key?
You remember getting gmail and constantly getting ads on it? It means somebody is scanning your files.
Just keep that in mind while you are free to choose whatever you like.

But in the end, it is what it is dude. It's all to suck more money out of us and you can't do anything about it. That's the ugly truth. Make use of this time and buy a Sony Xperia smartphone while they still have these features on their smartphones, cause it might not take long for them to drop the card slot and headphone jack too.

SD Card; Pictures? How are... moreSubscription? To pay for something that I don't own? To store my file on someone else's computer? Yeah, no thanks, I'll pass. I'd rather lost my files rather than paying for cloud. Also, the internet connection here is bad, even in the capital city.
There's a time I want to use my headphone while at the same time charging my phone. And NO don't give me that dongle suggestion. That's a huge hassle, and such thing can be prevented if the company actually cared about the minority of its consumers. Next time they'll remove the charging port and you guys will say "jUsT uSe wiReLesS cHarGiNg"
You guys will literally do anything to defend anti-consumerism lol.

Cpt.Power, 08 Nov 2024Bro so many work you did with that i appreciate it and i am... moreDo you realize that people work under you.
Well, whatever. You have 9.6gb/s internet. Might as well get a top notch 6g connection.
But why do you think best is the fastest. Price, availability, durability, support, popularity etc also matter. If you are looking for speed you should find the fastest.
https://www.sdcard.org/press/thoughtleadership/sd-association-delivers-gigabyte-speed-leap-with-new-sd-express-8-0/
In this link you can see it's possible to make 4GB/s sd cards. But companies don't want people to have it. Of course with pcie Gen 5,6,7.....the speed can be increased farther. But even finding gen3 x1 link is hard.
https://news.samsung.com/global/samsungs-new-microsd-cards-bring-high-performance-and-capacity-for-the-new-era-in-mobile-computing-and-on-device-ai
https://www.adata.com/us/consumer/category/memory-cards/memory-cards-Premier-Extreme-SDXC-SD7-Express/
https://www.amazon.com/SDExpress-Express-Backwards-Compatible-Included/dp/B09PWRRZXC
You see companies never tired to move sd technology forward. But you can still get 800MB/s.
Even the slow card's you shared wouldn't cost more than one year of cloud. Commoners can actually us free cloud after 1 years has passed. And they won't need to pay for the internet to see things that they created on their phone.
You see cfexpress is not as popular as sd cards. They also use pcie technology. But are moving forward.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1551687-REG/sandisk_sdcfe_128g_ancnn_128gb_extreme_pro_cfexpress.html
https://www.amazon.com/Lexar-Professional-Photographers-Videographers-LCXEXS4001T-RNENG/dp/B0DGK8XSXK
And now they are slowly gaining popularity.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/photography/tips-and-solutions/cfexpress-the-next-serious-media-format
Just see the title. This is what gemini ai said, "CFexpress cards are becoming more popular than SD cards for professional cameras and other high-end cameras. CFexpress cards are faster than SD cards, with read and write speeds that are up to three times faster. This is due to the NVMe protocol that CFexpress cards use, which is similar to advanced SSDs in computers. CFexpress slots are becoming standard in new cameras. However, SD cards are still the preferred choice for some lower-end, prosumer, and consumer-level cameras. SD Express is a new SD card that has improved the capabilities of the SD card. SD Express may be a better choice for applications that require a smaller mechanical footprint."
This is also what gemini said," SD8.0 is a specification for SD Express memory cards that offers faster transfer speeds and support for multiple PCIe interfaces. SD8.0 offers transfer speeds of up to 4 GB/s, which is comparable to the performance of M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSDs. SD8.0 supports three additional PCIe interfaces: PCIe Gen 4 x1, PCIe G3 x2, and PCIe Gen4 x2. "
You see in one question gemini acts as if SD8.0 and SD express don't exist. On the other it says yes.
But the conclusion is that companies are killing sd and moving towards cfexpress and manipulating the market and consumers. Yeah rich people can always get something customized science it's possible but there is nothing for commoners.
And you instead of saying "why companies don't make faster sd?" saying "cloud is faster." also not everyone needs speed like you. Yet it feels like you don't care and are trying to increase cloud sales.
If you care so much about speed then why don't you say, "Eh! Why is it still usb 3?usb 5 is coming." That way you will be able to put an m.2 in your phone which is smaller than 2.5 inch ssd and is faster than 5g, has less latency than 6g and will power clouds in the future.
Because those cloud's using NVMe are mostly using gen3 while Gen 4 and 5 are available unlike the artificial death of sd express.
Yeah the link you shared also tells about 800MB/s. But it was not the highlight of the page. Every company is related to every company. If they want they can create a market for sd express by creating demand. Or they can bring cfexpress to smart phones. But they won't. Because that might hurt cloud businesses.
Artificial meat is more expensive than real meat. It was even more expensive the past. But still companies are trying to make it available by trying to make it cheap, advertising, creating consumer base by taking some loose.
MKBHD recently made a video about a meta prototype AR glass. And you you know what according to meta it will cost 25k$ in the current market. So they are not marketing it. Instead trying to reduce price, increase quality to justify a profitable price and so on.
Google gives 2TB 1year cloud free for there phones. But after 1 year you might be trapped. Many people say they are sticking with old pixels for unlimited photo backup. But Google is not gonna revive this service. It was to create market. And now many people are using new pixels. Because they like it or they are changing phone every year. Free 2TB cloud. But who knows when pixels will stop this offer too. But by then there will be more loyal customers.
There are many more examples.
It proves that companies can do if they try. And they they try what they like. They don't sell what people want. They make people want to buy their products. If they want they can kill 6g and revive sd. But the difference is that you cannot use 6g if companies don't want you to. But you can us sd with older devices.

SD Card; Pictures? How are you going to easily share folders of those pictures? That's why people use cloud storage. Music? There are a plethora of streaming apps out there, if you can't afford such a cheap subscription maybe you shouldn't be splurging on a phone? Games? Unless you're playing Genshin on this, most games don't take up that much space.
Headphone Jack; Just buy wireless headphones. Don't want to? USBC DAC EZPZ. Don't give me that BS "audiophile" argument. 1) you wouldn't be using a phone to listen to music if you were an "audiophile". 2) USBC DACs sound better than EVERY phone currently released.
The ONLY good argument for wanting a headphone jack on your phone is if you have an older car and only have an AUX cable. But again, that is a very niche market to justify extra cost/space/programing.

Like i said small company usually our stores are 4x4 metres or up to 6x6 small enough for one person per store.
About my home internet i was right with 1200 megabytes per second download speeds.
And like i said no SD card no matter the brand is faster.
https://www.engadget.com/computing/accessories/best-microsd-card-130038282.html
So yes wireless options are better they are ow maybe they will not always be. No idea what future will come with but lets see.
Yes servers are definitely slower but they getting better from what they was before.
And for a future i cant say i dont see that far.
Anyway thans for explaining and be well friend.

But if you need speed I suggest you to use 128 gb/s m.2 instead of waiting for 125 gb/s 6g (as you suggested some people to use 2.5 inch storage. M.2 is even smaller than 2.5 inch ssd/hdd.) What's holding you from using m.2's?It's not that big, is it?
6g is 125GB/s not 125gb/s. But still why wait for 6g while using 10gb/s 5g when you have 128gb/s m.2
