Best Feature(s):Light weight and compact Value For Money:Good value Performance:Not bad First time trying out Sharp smartphone, the interface looks like a stock android. So far so good cannot expect much as it is a mid range smartphone.

Been using this as my main phone since April. I bought the Indonesian version (which is Made in Indonesia), and using it in Japan. Note that the Japan version and Indonesian version have different specifications. Japan has 6/128 while Indonesia has 8/256 memory. The only downside of using the Indonesian version in Japan is that I can't use any apps that needs felica.
The screen is weird. Sometimes I get clear, crisp display, but often getting burn-in though it will disappear later. Is that IGZO OLED thingy? I won't recommend it for someone who prefer pretty screen.
However, I think Sense8 is perfect for me. It's small, lightweight, and has good battery life.

If you are lucky amazon Japan will ship overseas. I got my Sense5G like this and that was extremely uncomplicated.
For the Sense8 currently only using something like buyee.jp (proxy shipping service) is possible. I've been using them for a while and so far everything I bought was shipped to the EU just fine. Though it is a bit pricy.

I'm the anon that on my second phone. I can confirm that my first phone had PWM flicker issue on low brightness I bought my phone on January so it's probably the early batch. I got my second phone on March and it doesn't have the PWM flicker issue. I've done another warranty claim today for the shadow problem and they said I would get another replacement (45 day waiting tho, sucks). Hopefully third time is the charm.

forgot to make those two additions concerning the display:
1. i can not confirm PWM flickering (or I am not sensitive to it/would not know what to look for)
2. no "shadows" in the display to be seen either.
and another addition or rather an assumption:
The Sharp devices that initially get released as carrier versions in Japan sometimes get bad press due to certain defects. Often those may be present in the first production batches, when the free market model gets released a few months later those are largely gone. (in a way, the initial docomo/au/softbank/on contract mvno users are a bit like "test subjects" it seems)

I also imported this from Japan (I am in Europe) as it was (May 2024) the only acceptable mid-range device currently available on the market with specs that I wanted (headphone-jack, side-mounted-fingerprint-reader, headphone jack) with both a very sturdy build and long update-period. I originally was a die-hard Sony-fan but the 21:9 displays were not to my liking, so the Xperia 10 series never was an option.
I have mine ("SIM free" version from Japan) since May now and so far no complaints. Sure there is this "red tint" (was a greenish tint before the update to Android 14 it seems) at very low light levels but I suppose that's simply an OLED issue and I rarely have the situation for such a low brightness level.
Overall I am happy. It is very snappy, get's monthly Google Play Store security updates (currently on July, August should come at the end of the month, the Android 14 update is on June 2014 now and will probably get another one in September or so.). The camera is very decent. I am normally a "manual mode" guy (coming from Sony) but I feel that the Sharp camera app does a very good job in AI mode as well. I don't do a lot of gaming, so I also have no performance complaints. I would have wished for a punchhole front camera or at least the option to hide the cutout as was possible on Android 13 (for some reason Android 14 does not have this feature anymore), but I can live with that.
I am never really happy with smartphone speakers and probably iPhones are the gold standard here but at least this one is a step up from previous levels. (I used a Sharp Aquos Sense5g since launch date until May 2024 and the speakers were much worse).
As of now, this is the better choice in comparison to the Sony Xperia 10 Mark 6, especially considering that it can now be had for around 400 Euros (incl. import tax and shipping).

I imported this phone from Japan but eventually returned it because of PWM flicker issues.
* The IGZO OLED panel used here flickers pretty badly. I couldn't use it for longer than 15 minutes at lower brightness levels. In a visual comparison at 1/6400s shutter speed it was noticeably worse than most OLED Samsungs.
* The media speakers have a noticeably metallic sound with a noticeable echo that sounds like steel wire hit with a wrench. I don't know if the speaker is at fault or if it's because of the aluminum body.
* The screen vibrates quite strongly when media is playing. I don't know if that's by design and the screen is used to amplify sound or if it's because of resonance inside the aluminium body.
However, I did like the compact size and presence of increasingly unpopular features like audio jack and an SD card slot. The camera was really good, too. If it wasn't for the PWM flicker I would have kept it.
