This has the worst OLED display I've ever had. I'm on my second phone because my first one already had shadow 1 month in and got replaced. Now after using my second one for 6 months, it also has shadow. Both phone has pinkish tint on some of the brightness level. I'm gonna do another warranty claim, I'm hoping for another replacement and better unit, but at this point I don't know what I'm hoping anymore. This is a good phone honestly. Very good and capable all rounder. It's just the display is disappointingly bad.

      The last compact midrange?
P.S. Pixel "a series" are super expensive nowadays, so they're excluded.

My only issue with this otherwise nice phone is the half-baked, under-optimized version of stock Android, which makes this feel like a fancy toy to an average smartphone user.

The UI is relatively light ... I guess it is similar to Sony in the sense that they do limited customization & mainly in cases where it makes sense.
Battery life is good, phone barely heats up when not charging (but I don't game).
Photos in the day are decent (colors are not neutral though, they boost the color saturation slightly).
I haven't tried night outdoor photography & video output.
Sharp Android security update policy is every quarter, which is decent but not fantastic
It only has competition from Xperia 10 VI for phones with a 6.1 inch display.
Both have very similar size & hardware specs with the Sony costing a bit more.
But if you are coming from a phone with better specs, you can definitely feel the difference from the Sense 8 Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 & UFS 2.2 flash storage.
Especially after you transfer over your apps from your old phone.
Out of the phone, the Sense 8 is really snappy though.

So it seems some of their phones might be still made in Japan, but probably mostly the cheaper ones.

If I will know about the cheaper phones, I will post another comment here. ;)

Now that I've seen how the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC performs on the Sony Xperia 10 Mk6, this phone looks to be a better choice than the Sony. Not only does this phone have a larger 256GB internal storage, but it also has USB3 with wired video output. That is something missing since the Mk3 Xperia 10.
