Dave, you are sooooo cheap that you can't buy a 256MB card for the GX30? No manufacturer will include a large memory card with the purchase of a phone! Nokia gives you a bigger memory card???

To TEALEAF and others:
I know I know, I'm a freak. But just a quick thing I wanted to ask. On the Samsung website you get the info for their TFT SCREENS:
" 2.2 Inch...Transflective...176 x 220px...262k color"
how can a 2.2 INCH TFT Samsung screen have 176 x 220 px?
But the same 2.2 INCH CGS SHARP has 320 x 240?
Can you explain?
Am I stupid or does that make the CGS finer than the TFT???
I know I'm being an A--hole here, but please explain this point to me.
I'm just saying the Sharp has a damn nice display....all I'm trying to say.
cheers,
- D

The SE S700 meets all your criteria apart from the flip but slide should be alright for you, May I say it has the best camera (better than GX30), better screen too, better software, looks, memory stick duo should do the trick, No excuses skater.
Or the Nokia 7610 has all that minus flip and slightly inferior screen but easily better than the GX20's screen, feature wise it embarrases your beloved Sharp!

Hey,
well, I've got my choices limited because: I want a Flip-Phone.
I want a CGS (or equivalent quality) screen.
I want a Camera as good as the GX20 or 30.
I want a good organizer and Alarm system (missing in the GX20)
MP3 player and SD Card would be nice. Email is a plus.
Not having a Vodafone branded phone: Priceless.
Anyone able to help me out?

No worries Tealeaf ;)
As I said, I'm always open to alternatives. So far I am really satisfied with the GX series. But as I said, I have to check out the S700. But I want a fliphone, that's the thing that bothers me a bit. Because there are no better Flip-phones. The Z1010 is allright, but bulky and bad screen. The Z105 is Ok, huge but also: bad screen. Nokias new Flip isn't out yet, and nothing I desire anyways. Samsungs Flip phones are Ugly.
So the only Flips I'm really keen on are the LG U8110, GX30 and MPX200 (and 220).
Any suggestions?

Hey Skater I agree with you there, E700's screen is no match for the GX30 or GX20 for that matter, but for you giving out false information and big up them 2 phones like you do there needs to be counter measurements because they are not nearly as good as you say, even the screens are getting on a bit especially the GX20's but as goes for the GX30 there are still better alternatives than these vodafone stuck machines. SE S700 and K700 both kicks the shit out of 20 n 30. The Nokia 7610 is the best allround phone in the market in my oppinion. Sorry if people hurt your feelings Skater but you had to be told.

@ George Stillman,
have a good laugh because I've never claimed to be an expert in TFT production. I merely tell you that to me the Sharp products just seem to be better Quality.
Is that wrong?
You can prove me wrong anytime, I invite you if you explain to me how a TFT is made and all that. Surely you know some good resources, because I'm quite interested.
AND TEALEAF:
If I'd be working for SHARP I wouldn't waste my time here arguing with you. I wouldn't have to because I would know EXACTLY what each one was made of.

My bottom line is:
I love the GX20 and GX30, the screen is awesome, the camera is awesome and the features are OK too. I recommend it to anyone and if u want to buy a Nokia instead then do so.
But because I'm such a fool, fill me in with some real information instead of just telling me i'm wrong all the time.

lol, guess I'm outnumbered.
how am I wasting your time? You choose to come here and argue...so I guess just don't reply and do what you need to do instead of writing here.
As you said, numerical data tells you the difference. Give me the specs of the size ONE pixel has, and how they are spaced compared to a regular TFT (as seen on Samsung S200/300/500 etc.)
e-mail me if you don't want to "waist" your time here because I'd like to know more about the technology.
You guys get offended so easily as if it affects you personally. I'm just giving you the reasons why I believe they are different.
Started when I compared the E700 with my phone, I could see the pixels were bigger on the E700 and smaller on my CGS? How am I wrong?
Start giving me real data, especially George, who works with a cell-phone company. Fill me in on your research.
And TEALEAF, why do you guys come here and complain about the GX30? If you love your K700 then be a bit more specific on what it is that you find so great.
Damn, is it so hard for you guys to compare and give your personal *detailed* opinions? Do you have any links to show us some pictures of the shots from a K700?
