the mp3 player is fine, theres nothing wrong with it, it sounds great through the speaker and you can get proper songs on to it using a card reader/wirter and put them straight on to the card

yea this fone has all the good features but the major prob is the features dont work as good as others. especially mp3 player. 100kb is like 10 seconds and what kind of song is that?

this fone's mp3 player is so shit. If any of you are trying to buy this piece of shit don't even think about it. the max memory of file you can transfer to your fone is only 100kb. What kind of fuking song is 100kb? the camera laggs as well. the flash is bright but doesnt flash to the long distance. video recording is only 400kb. which is shorter than a minute. if anyone kno how to increase the max size of file you can send to your fone plz tell me

annoiying thing to comment about camera:
very poor in dark conditions, it does have a flash but annoying thing is when you turn it on it stays on constantly instead of just flashing when taking pic, makes it impossible to take pics of people (light hurts their eyes in dark)

this phone represents the best step forward in mobile tech for years. nothing compares with. i mean a 1million pixcel camera, bluetooth, mp3 and all the improved features from to gx20. what more do you people want, it wont do your washing or take the dog for a walk but if theres better in this country then tell me. i work for vodafone and trust me theres nothing better.

Hi. Can the phone play mp3s of more then 128kb/sec if you upgrade it or something? Wille it be able to do that via upgrading or is the phone to poor for like 256kb? I want to use it as an mp3 player, but that is kind of important since some of my mp3s are 192 or 256....

Another thing about GX30 is that in order to have photos in yr picture phonebook, photos have to be stored in the handset memory i.e. if ya move pictures from yr handset memory to the memory card it deletes photos in yr picture phonebook. It's very fuckn frustrating who wants pictures of people in their handset memory 4eva???

Yea I got a SGx30 cos I thought it was the meanest fone eva but Iv'e had it 4 a week and its actually shit: MP3's can't be used as ringtones, the memory card that comes wit it will only store 1 or 2, Bluetooth can't be used without a heatset: there goes transfering pictures to mates fones for nuthn, the camera images once sent get converted to half a megapixel cos the NZ network can't handle them and all for an awesum price of $1299NZ yud have to madaz to waste ya money especially as theres gonna be heeps of macdaddy fones on the market very shortly everybody hold up and wait youll be glad ya did. I know I work 4 Vodafone!!! Peace out.

Hello!!! I m looking for some detailed information about the Sharp GX30. My questions are: How many minutes can you capture on video (storing it to a MMC)? Does the sound synchronises with the frames? Does it have a flash? The menu comes out with many colors or just a few ones? How about the sound of mp3s? Can u listen loud enough or the volume is low?Is it easy to put mp3s to the phone and how?Can u send pictures or video clip from the mobile, through mail? How many hours can u listen to mp3s before the batery runs out? Can u use mp3s as alarm clock? Can u edit the pictures? How many modes of picture taking has it? Does it have a night mode?Does it have a loud speaker?
Thats about it!!!!!!!!!!! My thanks to everyone who will answer!!!! Please mail me!!!!!!

The camera is hard to use simply because it needs to have a long exposure as the lens is so tiny and doesnt capture alot of light (same with all cameras on mobiles). If you set the shutter speed to fast it works better but you need more light to take the picture.

I've used this phone for almost a month and I'm now quite good at taking photos, I'm going to print a few to see how they look.
I use a packard bell card reader, and it's VERY easy to put mp3s, midi files and pictures onto the card.

The Bluetooth/infa-red problems and price of this phone make it a bit of a rip-off but its the price you've got to pay if you want the BEST phone on the market.

And phones4u site it says minimum price for handset is £150? Never seen anywhere where it is free!
And remember, you can change your tariff after 1 month with Vodafone.

Had this phone for 2 weeks and have just returned it for a few reasons. Yes screen is great but camera tracking is REALLY slow, anything that moves even slightly is blurry so its difficult to take any photos that show off the quality of the screen(people never stay TOTALLY still). Video capture is almost unusable coz of the same thing. I got this phone coz I want to play mp3's and there's not much going in UK right now (tried mpx200 - totally crap avoid) and i can't try it out coz it only comes with mono headset and stereo headsets will not be available for AT LEAST 1 month - some much cooler phones coming available by then. Doesn't come with a data cable either so can't try out much else in the way of connectivity.
Also bugged by non-active flip and no voice-dialling - pretty stupid for a clamshell.
It does have some cool features - torch/camera flash is great, SD card, external screen etc. I think its worth waiting for some of the next handsets coming - most of which 1Mpixel or better anyway.

as far as i know all u can do with the calender is to input up to three notes/reminders on each day. You can get the pictures if u put the settings so they save the pictures to the memory card and then buy a seperate card reader and they just come up as normal jpegs
