RE Tom: infra red issue
Hi Tom, its quite simple you can do it one of two ways. from the menu directly. its the last one on the right on the second row. second way is to press press the and hold the hash key "#" and a menu will come up. some buttons will already be assigned a function. I think infra red is one of them. if not assign a key to the infra red. so next time when yuo want infra red just press and hold that key eg. 1,2 ,3, 4, etc..
hope that helps

RE:chil
you are right about the USB ports, i dont know the reason either . also another point to note is that if you are connecting it the back and the using a USB extention cable becuae thedata cable is not long enough etc. then you may find it may not recognise the phone at all. if it does it will run at the speed of the fisrt one. hmm!!! have to get to the bottom of this one

hello there ppl. it appears that some of you are having MPM problems. just to make you aware that soemtimes the mpm software gives an error during the very start of the setup along the lines of " unable to read script error 1077" or something like that. basically its down to the stupid windows installer pakage which you may have to re install register the installation/driver package with the windows installer. best to just download the latest version of the installer from the microsoft websiite.

i think it was the d510 cable i used, but i'm not 100%. anyone who needs help with their pc sync set this should work as it did for me
1) download the mpm software off the disc
2) connect the cable with your phone and pc making sure it's switched on
3) eject the disc then put it in again
4) just before the disc loads go into my computer
5) right click on the disc name and click explore
6) another window should come up-when it does click extras
7) then click pc software and then usb driver
8)you should then see a setup file click on that and it should start an installation program for the driver
9) when it's installed try your pc sync set again and if it doesn't work go into control panel and system
10) then click on the hardware tab and device manager
11) you should then see the name of the cable with an exclamation mark next to it
12) right click on it and click properties
13) reinstall the driver with the cable still connected
14) this time it should find the driver so when it's finished try the pc sync again and it should work-it did for me!

I bought this phone last month and it has been great!! It may not have bluetooth or mp3, but if you want to have a smart, basic phone with a good camera then it's perfect. I haven't had any problems with it, it's been ideal. Hope this helps anyone wishing to buy it.

Lots of people seem to have same problem of PC connectivity. First it seems almost obligatory to have to set up the USB Com port manually to get PC software to recognise the phone on connection. Second and this is weird, if you connect via front USB port the connection is painfully slow and more often than not connection to phone is lost during file downloads or when exploring files on phone. Came across a tip suggesting you try connecting to rear USB port on PC. I tried it and windows gave message 'new hardware detected'then 'new hardware installed' on connecting phone and launching phone manager/explorer everything now works super fast and no problems! How weird is that!

I have had no end of problems with this phone. The software is faulty. It has been back to Seamens/Benq twice for repair but without success. It was eventually replaced and the new phone has the same software clitches. If you are having same problem call Siemens on 08705 334411 for repair or replacement. They need to know about these faults in order to prevent the same thing continuing to happen. These things cost money and we have our rights as consumers. Plus, the more complaints they get

i have recently acquired the siemens sf65, and to be honest i was expecting better, the screen display is absoloutly rubbish aswell is the camera and why did siemens make this phone so hard to use? why didnt they just keep things simple? also the phone is alot bigger than i thought and nearly pulls down my trousers. But one thing i am sure of is never to buy a siemens again. I would seriously not reccomend this phone to anyone.

ok everyone listen up, to get the pictures on the pc... you click on start then control panel, then system click on the hardware tab then hit the device manager button and you should see a yellow question mark that says serial usb bus contolroller, click on it and reinstall it WITH THE USB AND PHONE CONNECTED!
