Hi all,
I've had this phone a few days now and I bet you’re all fed up of hearing this but I can’t get my phone to connect to my pc. I have tried installing the MPM and USB Driver in different orders including having the lead attached and not attached. I am using the DCA-510 cable attached to my back USB. I have tried different versions of the driver and MPM software as one set came on cd with my phone and one set with my USB cable.
My opinion of the phone. I think this is a good phone especially for its cost. The problem is everyone seems to have a problem for me it’s the USB and GPRS wap. I have tried setting my phone with the config on siemens website for o2 but can still only connect to GSM. I have also noticed that I do not have worms already on the phone, I also do not have the currency converter but I wouldn’t use this any way as I’d rather use the calculator with the current exchange rate. Also any games and apps which should come on the phone can be downloaded from the siemens website. THE CALCULATOR DOES DO DECIMAL POINTS (HOLD DOWN ZERO). Also for predictive text just press hash till it goes off/on if your text is a little slow don’t worry what’s a few seconds.
When it comes to freezing you'll find Java is the main problem with any phone. I personally hate java in all forms but mainly on phones the one great thing about java is the apps and games but for me its not worth the problems it causes. My advice is when your using java take your time with it if you press a key and nothing happens give it a few seconds before trying it again because if your phone crashes while your using java and you have to take the battery out you might as well start looking for a new phone. I think we've had java long enough and its time for something better and more robust.
Overall I like the phone but if your going to buy one be prepared for problems you might be lucky and not have any, but I think the same goes for any phone. If someone made a perfect phone we'd all have it.
If anyone has any other suggestions on how to fix my USB connection apart from going into the device manager and reinstalling the driver please let me know.

The old USD MPM problem.
Its all connected, phone is recognised and I can see listing of files stored in the phone in Explorer. However I cannot copy them, I just get "access denied". In the MPM grapics programme, if I try and open a picture from the mobile" I get an "OLE error". I have changed drivers, software for 2 days. If I try to sync with outlook I get similar errors.
Siemens support is no-existant, they do not answer emails and their 75p per minute tech service leave you on hold! Can someone help. If not this poxy pnone will go back to Virgin.

Bought it last week..went to return it today but was informed that once the chip gets inserted, it's 'non-returnable'. Only warranty holds. So here I am..writing a review.
To start with, the pros first:
Pro: Designers success.
Cons: Engineers failure.
Yes..it looks good and that's no news. But that's the only plus point. It would sell because of it's look. The units sold till today, would be only because of it's looks.
Costing around US$250 here in Dubai, it's on the higher side of strata. Claiming to have a 1.3 MP camera doesn't gel well with a 65K display screen. The picture quality is one of those ancient sony-ericcson types which came around 3 years ago.
But I could have lived without the Camera, the main problem is elementary.
The Voice quality of the caller.
The clarity and volume of the caller is much worse than my last 3 year old Nokia 5210. I showed it to the sales guy and he agrees that Nokia's sound quality is much better but he still would't help with replacement.
Then there is 'handsfree' feature. You take a call on hadsfree mode and you wouldn't hear a thing unless you take it as near to your ear as you would in a 'normal' mode.
I know I should have known this earlier but now I realise that on a every clamshell phone, an external screen to show Caller ID, is not only a necessity but should be mandatory. This one doesn't have it.
Also, one would expect that with the swivel screen, it should be possible to take a self-portrait. With SF65 you cannot. It doesn't get into the Camera mode unless the screen has been turned all the way to 360 Deg and snap it back to back with the screen. There should have been a click-on button also to start your Camera.
By the way...I see performance 7.4 on the sidebar. Based upon most of the reviews, how could they reach that value?

It is difficult to get the cable to work with my PC but managed it eventually. It takes much longer to download pictures you have taken than I would have expected. I've managed to download some Polyphonic ringtones vis the USB cable but download and some don't. I was very disapointed in the picture qulaity of the photos at first but in good light the quality isn't too bad. It suits outdoor and daytime more than indoors and night time. I feel the major problem wit the phone is the interface with the PC. I can imagine some people never getting it to work as it wasn't easy for me and I'm a pretty experienced computer user. When you do get it connected downloading your photos is pretty much all your going to be able to do. It's good points are that it looks very good. The way it transforms into a camera is brilliant design. If you don't care much for games, don't expect too much from the picture quality and you want a phone that looks really good, then this is the phone for you. My verdict on this phone is a Flawed effort from Siemens....it could have been so much better.

Like many I have had the software problems.
Followed , the advice in this forum after my own efforts failed.
The end result was no different than my own efforts - No Phone connected as the status.
Unplugged the USB cable and connected direct to PC not through hub . BINGO .
I would recommend trying a short run to your PC first.

Hey guys I am having trouble with my GPRS assistant. basically I cannot get it to recognise my phone via the USB cable. MPM recognises it and I have also installed the modem driver that came on the disk. the microsoft list when adding a new modem comes up with the following list seiemens modem gprs via blutooth, seiemens modem gprs via com and seiemens modem via USB. I know the latter is a modem driver to use i the phone as a standard modem (14.4K). I have installed the GPRS via com but to no avail.somebody help me please.......:-)

Hey Kim. I tried putting MIDI files onto the phone, and most didn't get transferred. I then found out that the midi files HAVE TO BE the following:
-less than 50kb
-the name cannot be more than about 12 characters long
-the phone will not accept names which contain symbols such as ' or - or _ . It will only accept spaces in between words.
So make sure you check the MIDI size before downloadin it, or it's a WASTE OF TIME. Trust me.
