My company has just bought 2 of these from an internet retailer, expected delivery date 12 November. I suspect that the reason for the delay is that the standardisation of the OMA Secure User Plane Location A-GPS standard is about 9 months late. No use in releasing a phone if 3 months after its release it cannnot talk to any A-GPS servers in the network...

don't hurry people, when siemens or benq (whatever) by itself is waiting for its product to get old or commom in the market, why you are dyeing to buy this? :) i wonder siemens marketing strategy has brought them to this stage that they had to merge their mobile unit with benq on benq's terms and conditions (apparently) and they're still running it the same way! what else they want???

FYI: Another Finnish (besides Nokia) mobile manufacturer Benefon had already in mid 2001 a builtin-GPS mobilephone "Benefon ESC!"
So Siemens doesn't have groundbreaking technology at all...

Hurray, it's November, and... what, still "Coming soon"? Benq or Siemens, if you're reading this (which you should), I think the lesson here is to not give promises you can't keep.

plus I will break the SIM card and break my current mobile device and I won't buy any mobile phone for ever

Remember the release of the sx1 My hunch is this will have the same problem but with the shorter delay

Benq or Siemens, if you're reading this (which you should), I think the lesson here is to not give promises you can't keep. I got a new phone last week, and it's not as fun as this one but it works - and most of all, it exists. Now I'm off the market for a year at least. Better luck next time, if you're still around.

Help...waiting for a lot of months now for this phone and suddenly the SXG75 disapeared of the Benq (netherlands) site. I don't think this phone will be launched ever !!!

It will have GPS. Have you seen the manual book somewhere on the internet? On the GPS part, it says something like this... "You are guided by clear maps and arrows plus voice directions. This information, plus details of your destination, are used to calculate the route for you. At the same time, the central navigation computer makes use of currently available traffic information and real time traffic data"
