      So, this is the situation.... if the choice are limited to Xperia 1, W995, and Aino, then Aino is the most compromising item to meet all needs you mentioned. This is why:
      1. It's a Sony Ericsson (your main requirement, right?)
      2. Comparing to W995, Aino has the touchscreen, though only limited, and buttons as well...while W995 doesn't have that touchscreen, you can touch the screen but nothing will happen (since it's not touchscreen, heheheh). Beside, aino is equipped with that great great great 16 Million Colors display, just put some nice wallpapers out there then you'll have the most gorgeous phone that will let others in jealousy, believe me.
      3. Xperia X1 is out of date now, I think it's a little bit too late to buy it now, if you really need something from Xperia family, then i suggest you to go for X2 or X10.

          i used my friends aino and compeltly fell in love w/it i have a iphone 3g 8gb and im tryna sell it on craigstlist then im totaly buying aino white

            hey people :)

            I just need to ask for few opinions. I am on the search for a new phone. Currently I am using the SE W810i and I am happy with it, but it is time to upgrade. I had LG K990 viewer but it sucked big time. I guess what I need is a phone that has wi-fi, touch screens and buttons as well. The touch screen is not so necessary. The buttons and wi-fi are a must :) And it has to be SE.
            I was deciding between XPERIA X2, Aino or W995 ...
            What do you guys think ? I am so lost...Please give me advise.

                  Did you notice the white line in each side of W995's square display...?
                  I don't know, somehow those lines didn't feel right to me, it's kinda reducing w995's credit of beauty in my perspective.
                  It's just that simple...but for me it's decisive, really.

                    I'll confirm you that SE Aino has the best physical design (both black and white, but i prefer the white)among all handset up to this very day. Trust me.
                    If you put style in the highest order, Aino won't disappoint you, infact it will make you proud

                      hello friends..i would like to know is there any possibility that aino supports full touch operation by maybe upcoming firmware upgrades or getting jailbroken or something like that..coz its such a waste having a stunning capacitive screen but cant do throughout touch operation

                        mosd, 08 Jan 2010absolutely not; they only make it more attractive :) @ a... morei repect ur opinion and i confess i was after aino for a while.
                        i have already bought w 995 after many many comparisons i do know that aino is still good one.
                        but for me it isn't practical to slide open the phone for every minute setting i want to make.
                        to initate a call i have to slide to change ring tone to open wifi to read the message.,
                        in the 1st few days after purchasing new phone you stay for a while orgainising things and checking and enabling and disabling settings just imagine how many times you are going to slide open the phone.
                        this is not practical.
                        i do know it is semitouch i think aino will not do good in sales.
                        also battery in aino isn't good
                        so what is left in favour of Aino vs W 995.
                        may be only the camera is somehow better than w 995 but has only simple features doesn't have smile detection etc...
                        again i think that the difference between Aino and w 995 price isn;t in the phone itself it is in the accessories sold with aino.

                          And about the battery, does it last at least 2 days if no wifi,gps and gms only??
                          One reason for swaping from satio is battery life.
                          Also can you play games screen closed?

                            @ ashraf: I'm not quite sure if you've tried the aino hands-on...Yes the phone does support only a few functions with the slider closed(camera, photo gallery, video gallery, music player, and radio)..But these are probably enough..You do know afterall that you're purchasing a semi-touch phone, so you wouldn't expect all functions to be availavle in touch mode...So to use the menus, settings, make callas etc you will have to slide the phone open. The phone does, hovever, support touch applications such as opera mini browser and ebuddy which work pretty well...
                            I love my Aino :)
                            @sara: go for white (haven't seen the black one to be honest)..oh and try and cut on the "bas" :P

                                    i finally choosed w 995.
                                    so in my point of view the decisive point in choosing w 995 is that
                                    1) you can't use Aino phone at all when it is slide closed, you can't use any function on the phone while it is slide closed except only media touch enabled
                                    2) battery isn't that good w 995 battery in last charge by moderate use( means use wifi, listen to music , calling, sending text messages) and it stands around 4 days or less more.
                                    you can weight both batteries on your hand and you will discover surprisingly that w 995 battery weight is more than the one in Aino although in Aino it is 1000 mah while in w 995 is only 930
                                    may be Aino is good looking but if you look at the silver colour of w 995 it is also very brilliant.
                                    anyway good luck in ur choice
