HI guys!!! i bought this phone last 1 MAY 2009 and i was so dissapointed with the camera features of this phone unlike with other sony ericsson phone. it is not the same with K800 with a good camera. the sounds and the rest of the features is OK and slim features on it.

gov, 18 May 2009Waiting for the review. I've read reviews from other sites ... morePhone Arena.com has now reviewed this phone. Im wondering if indoor pics might be improved with next firmware update. Think indoors its the refresh rate thats bad which in turn makes pics blur. Outside its fab. I recorded a thunderstorm yesterday on the video recorder came out great with heavy rain though i was covered up. Videos look great on screen but crap on pc but its only for fun snaps and videos.

they really don't differ much except for the camera UI and the larger screen.

Sony ericsson c510 - a nice phone with
* excellent 3.2 MP camera,
* loud sound(with stereo),
* attractive high resolution display with high contrast,
* robust OS(Speedy response),
* Automatic Portrait to Landscape, Landscape to portrait, just as in IPOD, while watching movies or pictures,
* Dual LED Flash which give sufficient light for nearer image,
* Awesome Smile shutter feature
* GPS Facility which gives location services( using Google Map)
* High phone storage capacity
* Dancing wave right from display to keypad, during the call, makes the phone more stylish.
Cons:
* Battery life is very less while using GPS/Internet/Data. It is not as expected. It needs to be charged daily or on alternate days depending on usage. But not having the power as in W810i
* Look is not that much attractive as Walkman or Cybershot series.
* More of cheap plastic make.

i dnt thnk it's an imp file. U jst do 1 thing. Copy paste tht file into ur pc then delete it frm others folder. Then see hw ur fon reacts. Normally we can delete all d files frm others folder.
If u find any serious implications, copy paste frm pc to others folder again.
Let me knw d outcome and sm more of review bcoz i m interested in this fon.

i tried to google search this unusually annoying "nmea_rout1" file text and the search results are not in english. the only clue i've got is that it has something to do with GPS and google maps. anyone knows what is this file for? i really want to delete it.

Mayank, 17 May 2009If the file extension is .exe maybe its a computer virusits not .exe. its a file text (.txt). it contains weird codes and it is opened by phone browser just like when we want to preview a flash file. i noticed it when im browsing my phone. its already been there when i bought it. anyone with the same case pls let me know. ("nmea_rout1" file text in the "other" folder in the file manager). btw, thanks for your previous help Mayank. really appreciate it.

Waiting for the review. I've read reviews from other sites but gsmarena's matters more. I would very much like to hear their opinion on the backspeaker, the indoor pics (if it really sucked that much), the build quality, and how it will stack against my current phone g502 and if it's really worth ditching my g502 for this one (putting the camera features aside). I guess i'm too demanding. Hehehe.
But hey, if anyone of you have tried using both c510 and g502, you could post a comparison. Would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

I've been using it for more than a month now.
Sound is wonderful. Acceleromater (auto screen rotation is very impressive). Screen also suuficiently large and clear. Videos are exceptionally good, since records at 30fps, and moreover records as mp4.
Still camera pics are very crisp, specially macro autofocus works the best in sony phones. U can click a full newspaper spread, and read it on screen. Interface is very fast. I used Google maps for first time, it worked very well.
Motion games let u play games just by rotating the phone. Very very recommendable.

I use the usb cable to transfer movie in mass storage mode. what i've noticed was the battery charges while on mass storage mode. i previously used nokia phones and based from experience from it, its not advisable to charge your battery when not drained enough as it may cause the battery to shorten its stand-by time. i would like ask anyone, since my c510 charges everytime i connect in mass storage, does it have any effect on my battery? or is there any way i can disable the charging while connected to mass storage mode? please help!!!!!
