new C510 user, 15 Oct 2010how am i going to update my phone? i don't know how. pls he... moreinstall the pc suite that you have in the phones box.
backup your personal data. is there in the pc suite menu.
download and install updateservice(a simple search on google and you will find where to download it).
have your phone charged or at least with 20% battery.
shut it down.
remove memorycard and sim card.
put battery back in the phone.
start update service.
choose from the list your phone(c510), click next, it is going to ask you to connect the phone.
have your usb cable plugged in the computer.
keep pressed the c button and keep it pressed, while the c button is being pressed plug the usb cable into the phone, keep the button still pressed until it asks you to let go the button.
it should tell you that there is an update for your phone and click next or proceed what ever it asks you there.
wait untill it updates.
after it finishes, unplug the phone, remove the battery.
insert sim card.
start the phone.
at the first star it will take a while until it checks all components.
the homescreen should appear....now you can insert the memory card.
plug the phone to the computer and run pc suite and click restore to load all your contacts and messages and personal files you had before updating.

sometimes it happens for memorycards to get used to the phone their are inserted originaly and when moved in another phone to behave anormal due to the formating of the card.
if you format the card in the c510 it should work just fine.

Shri, 16 Oct 2010Hi all. I am planning to buy this mobile. Found both positi... morethe loudspeaker in the original software is pretty loud but if you know how to follow instructions and use the computer you can make it even louder, i have moded the acoustics and sounds great, loud and crisp.
unfortunately the led flash is not good for pictures at night...if their are close max 1 meter you can get good shots....but farther than 1 meter their are not good.
i have mine for over 1 and a half year i am satisfied i made 2050+ pictures with it...in daylight it will surprise you dispite the 3.2mp camera. it produces good and well contoured pictures really sharp.
this phone has a good price/performance ratio. i give it a thumbs up.

When they're in the memory card, it slows down a bit when you open the "application" menu. Maybe this could help.

I dropped it many times, in two occasions I dropped it very hard, and the screen shows split in to two and backwards and I simply restarted it and it's back to normal. Never have any mayor problem using it.

Really love this phone. It stinks of quality. Planning to use it for the next 5 years. Hope it can handle it.
While making phone calls, the voice is so clear. And the microphone works really well, I don't have to put the phone in front of my face to get the other person hear me, even when I whisper.
The browser works really fast. with the viewing page adjusted to the screen, makes it very comfortable and avoid you scroll left-right. And it has all the features of a browser, saved pages, bookmark, find on page etc.
The preprogrammed google maps came in handy when you're lost.
The multimedia works like a charm. I love all of it, the photo album, the music album, it plays most of video types with a very clear picture.
It has a smart dialing, which comes very handy.
The alarms can be set for multiple alarms, set the days dan snooze time.
Really love the multitasking ability, works in every function of the phone.
The camera have really good resolution, different shoot modes, scene, all the works. But it takes sometime to capture, so I never get a good result taking a candid pictures.
Ok, now the dislikes. The radio still needs the handsfree for the antenna. No threaded view (conversation) for text messages as the prenview said.
All in all, I LOVE the phone. The only thing that I really miss from this phone is document viewer, or at least just for pdfs. I really need it for my line of work. If anyone can suggest me a good and solid app that I can instal, I'd be very greatful.
So, if you considering, I'd suggest this phone. It's not very pricy, but it has ALL features a non-smarphone need for everyday task.

Great Phone and great performance ... by the way .. the flash is DUAL LED ... not only one LED ... really powerful . sound quality is high and clear ..
