hmmm... is this phone still coming out? on the SE global website its not listed in the mobile portfolio section (coming soon phones) like with the idou, w995, c903 etc..

To people asking why this lovely phone is limited to certain markets, (IE, it's not in the UK), here in the UK, sadly, but probably due to the economy, the shops are selling mainly poor / lower quality phones. In the case of SE, the C510, which while versatile, lacks the obvious quality and camera features of the C901. This is very sad and a false economic decision because people are more likely to sign long contracts if they are getting a quality phone that will do it's job for longer. And having a decent (Xenon) flash based camera and megapixel count is a good start.
Here we have the phone everyone wants, without any way to get it. The shops here in the UK are selling rubbish phones, except for some of the latest Samsung and LG devices like the Arena and new Tocco UltraTOUCH. Nokia and SE, where are you?

hope it has the second camera, coz i turn to love this phone compare to C902 which only have LED flash

sony ericcson have made a bad marketing decision by limitting this phone to only several countries when obviously alot of people like the design and features.
I hope this fone is released in Australia as I like the keypad and the camera feature with xenon

It's a phone, it doesn't need wifi. It's a mobile device so you'll use it more out-house than in-house.
I prefer to use the 3G network in that case, even at home. As long is it has 3G, it's enough for me. Besides, this is really a thin phone, i presume that a wifi antenna uses some space.
Wifi is more for smartphones.
What really gets me is the lack of a simple GPS receiver. I can't find a single nokia or samsung to compete against these SE phones, but likewise, there's not a single SE candybar with gps and a good camera.
Nokia looks like chinese cheap stuff, and symbian can be a pain. Samsung doesn't have candybars (or they're butt ugly). What else is there? LG? LG only has popular touchscreen phones.
SE is the best, but they need to make it with GPS.
I'm gonna buy the C510 now. Cheap and not too bad. While i wait for a true Cybershot candybar with gps.

here we go again, can't companies understand what we want? this is a good phone, but lacking WIFI is a deal breaker. just like the upcoming nokia 6700 classic, it has everything but WIFI, these companies need to understand that we're in 2009, and WIFI should be integrated to all phones especially expensive ones.
It's like they do it on purpose or something, each phone lacks one key feature. If it has WIFI it won't have a good camera, if it has a really good camera, it won't have wifi.

Is it only for the Malaysian market then?
Really, you've got no idea how much i want this phone. On the malaysian website there's an indication of 3 months until release. So that's at least until june/july.
I think i will pick up the C510, and sell it and buy the C901. But that's really pretty dumb :(
C510 is almost the same phone. It's 2mm bigger in length and width. So not only is the C901 prettier and better, it's also a bit smaller!
3 MP and led flash instead of 5 MP and xenon. :( Otherwise totally the same phone (qvga 30 fps video...)

But I've got a question: I've heard it'll only come out in Danmark. Is this true ? Will the C901 come out in Spain too ?

Does anyone know when this will be realeased in North America?? I had a K850i which died AGAIN for the 3rd time as the heat sensitive touch keys are crap and I refuse to have it repaired for a 3rd time! I'm using my K800i which I had dropped in water, but after sitting in it's box for about a year it's working fantasticly! I want the C901 ASAP so if anyone knows when it will be realeased, please let know! THANKS!!!!!!!!! Love you SE!!!!!!!

I think i've made my decision. There's no way i would not buy this. I need to have this phone, it looks perfect.
As for gps, i'll have to buy some of those external gps dongles and keep it with me. I hope the camera will be able to use an external gps receiver for geotagging, and that SE nav app will recognize it as well.
Sadly, this will use bluetooth, so i'm worried about battery life.
Damn you SE, the sacrifices i have to make to have a GPS receiver on this thing!!! Just put the gps in there, why don't you?
Oh, and stop making CARRIER-ONLY phones, :@ :@ The W715 could be what i want (with gps) because i want some metal on my sliders (G705 looks to flimsy)
But i love candybars a lot more!! Again, this phone is what the C902 should have been all along. Bigger screen, no silly camera mechanism. Damn you, SE

C902_man, 09 Apr 2009What does C901 offer over and above C902? In short, why... moreit has xenon flash...and thats why the K800/K810 became SE's best. The same could be said bout the K850 if only it wasnt plagued with a lot of problems.
