its not really asking for perfection, people spend alot of money on phones and should really get what they pay for. simple.
just read the comment below mine... one of many.

My C905 is not functioning (earphone no sound) less than 2 months after purchased. It has been almost 3 weeks since I submit it to the service station and the phone has not yet been repaired. I don’t know how much longer it will take to get the sparepart. I am truly disappointed.

It’s not about the phone, but the data stored in the phone. I am so frustrated not able to look at contacts to find people. Yes, it is customer’s responsibility to have backups, but when a customer buy a phone that means the customer already trusts the phone to be functional. I can tolerate 1-week repair time, but 3 weeks is just not acceptable. Sony Ericsson itself does not help much to manage customer satisfaction. All they can do is being sympathetic and ask to wait for the sparepart, they have no intention to replace with a new phone or to assign a backup phone for customer to use while waiting for repair. I do not suggest anyone to buy C905. A broken handphone combined with long repair time has no value.

Date of Purchase: 13 Nov 2008
Date of Service: 7 Jan 2009
            Repair Order Number: MDF00008354

The major flaw in this reasoning is nothing can be perfect. I agree that there are a large amount of complaints about this phone, but the reason behind it is simple

Kelly, 25 Jan 2009Well all I'm saying is the rate of early life failure seems... moreany phone is going to have problems, its an inescapable part of growing technology. The thing is that problems are highlighted much more than the praises. I actually own a C905 and mine is the one that kelly referred to as the returned.

Look at the Nokia's of past, the N95 had major problems when it was first released, the e65 has had major problems as well. i won't be suprised if the same goes for the N97. But most of these phones still rate fairly high. Foibles are always easier to spot than good traits

Enough with the speaker problems. Sony Ericsson definately had problems with the first productions units. -Some- of them hade speaker issues.
I work at the phone house and we have got acknowledgements that they issue is fixed.
Hope no one else sees it again!
It is truly a great phone, the innov8 might be better but thats what you get when adding another 30% to the price.
