I find cedar very nice. Thanks for all the reviews. It made me decide to purchase it and so far, im happy with it.
My last favor : can you post the links for the audio driver, camera driver, display drivers that you have to improve its performance ?

Here's th... moreHai wreck, pls help me. i am using normal gprs net(Rs.98 plan of bsnl) on my cedar.i am able to browse net on my mobile. i did install the pc companion and connected my cedar. it got connected automatically to the internet. it also displayed "you are online" but when i opened firefox and went 4 an address, coming like 'looking up for www.soandso.com' and later 'problem loading page'. its as if it is deadly slow or as if i have no data connection. but when i go for dial up connection through control pannel, i am getting connected to net and only then i am able to browse. now i am going by dial up connection only. going through pc companion is not working though it is getting connected. did u or anyone faced this problem any time

Here's th... moreu ppl brag abt cedar as being the greatest in the price range of rs 5000 but i dont think so..all the phones under this price range are wiorthless as they lack qwerty or a touch screen and to only let u know the phone u constantly brag about is one of them.also it only has virtually unlimited apo size support but it only has 5.5MB heap size so the max supported size for a jar file is only upto 2.5MB..why did u not try the 4.1MB version of angry bird? but let me tell u that angry bird is not even close to the symbian 3/android/iphone angry bird as ur fone can hardly run java apps.and abr multitasking u minimised abt 10 apps which ones they were cal? notes? calendar? cobtacts???..just let me reveal to u the fact that ONLY OS's LIKE SYMBIAN, ANDROID,iOS,WINMO are capable of TRUE MULTITASKING...also the cam quality is not even near to the sony's own k750i and u say its got a great cam? also what fun is to watch 640x480^29 videos on a 2.19 in QVGA display that too only supporting 256k colors.and what abt D pdfs,excel,DOC,etc documents and what abt flash in the web browser? if the phone lacks such common features then wats d use of that 3.5G connectivity? and why it lacks edge class 32 that even a c2-01 has! 90% of d population can hardly afford 3.5G it costs around 751INR for just 2048MB!and dont say that the cam equal to a nokia 5230 if u mod and turn off compression then a 5230 beats cedar anyday!!

Here's the true full-review of c2-01 and cedar.
Nb: if some one is intending to call this biased, please let me know why and how?.
I own x2 and cedar. I dont own c2-01 but had experience with it everyday as a close friend of mine owns it.
NETWORK 3g-
c2- max speed 376kbps , no hsdpa, hsupa.
Cedar- HSDPA 7.2mbps, HSUPA 3.5mbps.
DISPLAY-
C2- 2.0" TFT , tilted to all sides and colors are mixed up. Poor side view.
Cedar- 2.2" TFT, Only one side mixes up colors, that too better than what happens in c2. Better side views.
SPEAKER Loud.
C2- 66.0db
Cedar- 60.8db (can be upgraded upto 68db changing audio driver)
SPEAKER clarity.
C2- poor clarity, too high distortion compared to other phones.
Cedar- above average quality, better than x2.
HEADSET
C2- above average loudness with average quality. Headset supplied is poor and below 500rs
Cedar- excellent loudness with outstanding quality. Slightly better than x2.
Headset supplied is good and costs 1060rs in market.
Audio formats
C2- mp3,wav,wma,aac
Cedar- mp3,aac
VIDEO PLAYBACK-
C2- mp4,3gp.
Max bitrate should be below 1000kbps for hassle free playback. clarity improvement ends after 880kbps.
Videos must be below 320*240 resolution else played as audio..
Cedar- mp4,3gp
Max bitrate should be below 5840kbps for hassle free playback
Visible improvement in clarity ends after 4200kbps.
Any resolution below 640*480, (else 'cannot play this video') , can be played qvga,nHd 360p,ultra low hd,240p, vga...
VIDEO RECORDING.
C2- qvga at 15fps, when tested maximum bitrate ends up everytime below 800kbps.
Cedar- qvga at 30fps. Max bitrate betwen 1400-1600 everytime tested. (Bitrate, frame per sec...etc based on media player classic's readings)
CAMERA resolution
C2- 3.2mp, 2048x1536 resolution images.
Cedar- 2mp 1600x1200 resolution images.
CAMERA sensor
C2- below par quality and often blurry and absorb less colors compared to x2. And even lower when with cedar
Cedar- pretty decent sensor, color absorbing and clarity almost par with great 2mp's like 5233, 5250.
USER INTERFACE
C2- symbian 40 ver6.
Easy to use when owned a nokia.
Maximum java size 1mb
Partial os, allows you to create folders and move files to wherever you like.
Partial java, multitask is not there along with smartdial and various other goodies.
Display brightness cant be adjusted.
Alarm loudness is low.
Cedar-
Sony proprietory java
Easy to use when prev phone is sony. Else gotta get familiar.
No java limit, rename the .sis 2.4mb version of angrybirds and the only handset that accepted the file without 'java error' among samsungs,lg's,s40's.
Partial smartphone.
Multitask is available, minimise even 10+ apps and the phone continues running smooth.
Smart dial is available.
Still java, and you can move .mp3 into music, .jpeg then to pictures..etc only. 'To unlock, enter code' feature isnt available
Can adjust brightness.
Can be modified in many ways using software just like using pc suite. Can upload new audio driver, camera driver, display driver,....
Alarm is louder.
BATTERY.
C2- good backup, usual nokia stuff.
27-33 hours under normal usage
Cedar- very good backup, very rare for a sony
38-45 hours under normal usage.
BUILD-
C2- tough build, usual nokia standard.No shutter key
Cedar- tough build, rare for a sony. Dropped atleast 60+ times (lost count) and still no problem.No shutter key.
Vol keys double as next previous keys once playing music.
INTERNAL MEMORY-
C2- 45mb
Cedar- 255mb
SIMILARITIES.
Both support micro usb (2.0&2.1)
Both got 3.5mm jack
Both support microSD
Both got backlight alert for calls and sms.
Both have a similar 4x3 arrangement in picture gallery.
Both are from same price range, under 5000rs..

[deleted post]The message-capacity in Cedar is practically unlimited. For instance, I have 1665 msgs in my phone acquiring only 8 KB. So take a calculator & calculate how many messages can be stored in 280 MBs. Its innumerable buddy.

Phones can adjust its brightness only.
If you need to change colors of tabs,menu... U'll have to apply a different theme...
Need themes, go to zedge.com select phone as yari or zylo and download.

It cant be changed.
However, the phone got a good quality sensor but the camera driver reduces the size of the image (kb), compresses it and reduces the actual size of the snapped image into below 600kb. Possibly to get more free space.
The modified cam driver clears the compression stuff and generates image in its default size. As a result, the compression is avoided resulting in a little more defined image.
Now an image size usually 1.4mb.
Like you i'm new to this kind stuff too. Try visiting se-nse forums. They got all the pros and every drivers.
If you are uploading a new driver or acoustic get a copy of the default ones in cedar too. The whole is available in se-nse forum for download.

how can I adjust the contrast ? the only option to change the display is changing the brightness, but that doesnt improve it. Not only the images , but also the themes , background , other function's displays too, needs adjustment on contrast.
