You have to go to control panel in the computer and then the place where the network adapters are listed (in windows 7 it's in network and sharing center -> change adapter settings). Then you have to right click on your network adaptor with access to the internet, then select properties then there's a setting on sharing the internet connection to the phone lan connection.
Internet browsing works but i can't get youtube to work.. Youtube works using boltbrowser though but the quality is not very good.

Harsh, 29 May 2011'Allow local conn' in internet settings will allow u'r hand... moreApologies, my English must be too poor, I don't understand the answer. I read the manuals but still I can't use these features. I'd like to surf the internet, download my email to Cedar without using the 3G network.
1) I set phone's connection to use internet from the computer
2) I allowed the application (eg. Opera Mini) to use local connection. It is not explained fairly enough bit I assume this means internet accessed trough data cable, computer and a phone-independent ip network provider.
3) Connected, started the PC Companion, which confirmed, link was active and telephone set to take internet from computer.
Still no success. Is there anyone here wo uses computer's wan access to vonnect Cedar to the world?

Hai frnds.
I got my mate(Cedar) today.
Its really superb dudes.
No words to say.
Sound output is acceptable. Music via head ph is rocking.
Filled my 4GB msD card upto 3.7GB., Still there is no hanging or slow down.
Using internet via opera mini is awesome.
Widget manager is good.
There is some drawbacks too. But that is not disappointing me:-)
I think, Wreck & Kchat is doing a fantastic job here.

is there any good free antivirus for this phone available in the internet?
how is the 3.5 mm connector?does it have the capacity to stay functional for a long time (lets say, like for 2 years)?The 3.5 mm audio jack in some music players is not so stable ..after 2 months or so ,you cant hear songs in both the earphones.
Is this phone's audio jack good?

Some Limitation of sony Cedar:
1. When u want to call some 1,u cant understand when ring began. after pressing call key u just see that Calling.. but actually ring starts after a while.u cant understand it without earpiece or loudspeaker.
2.During in call phone display always turn on. it cant turn off automatically and no option to turn it off.it kills much charge
3.supplied headphone is bellow average. model HPM-60J dont have any bass.yes it is clear but no bass.u need to use an additional headphone for better sound.
4. After inserting memory card phone will slow a little.specailly Media.
those are some review. I buy this phone 3 days ago. Sorry for my bad english.
