I have used SE phones since their beginning. I got Elm as a replacement of my great old W850. But this Elm phone is a disaster. I will never buy a SE phone again. Here is why: You can not use the device until you insert a SIM card. Why SE, why? Display - horrible when you are outside, you can't see anything. Anything! Very slow interface. Phone friezes randomly. Quality of the phone speaker is very poor. GPS can be used only with the preinstalled Google Maps application. If you install on your own Google Maps application from Google or any other application they don̈́'t recognize the GPS receiver. Why? You can not add the GPS coordinates into SMS messages! Why? Battery never charges up to 100%! You can not record MP3 files from the radio while you are listening. You can not record your phone call too (SE, the year is 2010, any Samsung does all of this since ages). Proprietary port to communicate with the phone. This SE Elm is advertised as a Green/Eco phone, but there is nothing to do with that idea expect it is probably made of second hand pars or something like that. Green phone with a proprietary port. Gimme a break SE. Please, avoid this phone. It is a big catastrophe. Buy some better phone from better manufacturer, which follows open standards.

chilu, 11 Aug 2010Why backside of this fone is curved in shape..Realy waste.v... moregood luck with purchasing c5, my brother had to choose between this one and that, he chose this one because of the very bad sound quality and camera of c5, good luck

i'm considering about purchasing new phone...hazel and elm...which one is better recommended based on camera, sound, keypad and wifi. please reply..tq^^

The phone is amazing. After migrating from the c510, using this phone. I have not missed out on any features. The keypad and the shape of the phone add a lot the the comfort. The camera and music quality was not upto to my expectation though. All in all id give a 7 out of 10, loosing out points on camera and music.
Just one question though. Im unable to make my widgets to start working. Especially facebook and calendar. As I use these the most. Do they need a fast connection or something as I still use 2g connection with speeds ranging around 128kbps...
Also wanted to add, the battery life is amazing.:-)

Sony Ericsson must make up side down designs for up side down people typing messages on land.
Sony Ericsson must make a football shape phones that allow you play football with them while shoting the desired bottons to compose a message.

worst phone i've ever had! the "design" is useless (you're not able to type when the phone is flat on the ground, although there is best 3g coverage you won't have a fast connection etc.....

lolipop, 12 Aug 2010does it support flash??could it possible to play youtube?Youtube Plays fairly well on wifi not so good on hsdpa or 3G this is an onboard youtube player. Flash Player so far available on Android phones with 2.2 not sure if this can flash play on Elm.

chilu, 11 Aug 2010Why backside of this fone is curved in shape..Realy waste.v... moreThe reason the back on this phone is curved is partly looks but if you look carefully the speak is on the back at the one end and so when curved up it does not block sound when phone on flat surface.
On top of this a curved phone fits better in the hand when your making a telephone call much more comfortable.

@anonymous: maybe thats coz u located the file on memory card..so manage n move ur google map to ur internal phone's memory.. U can try my tips :-D
@lolipop: ya it has flash above the camera..n ya of course it can plays youtube coz frm the default condition, it has youtube applcation @prathamesh: about its bluetooth, u hv to set first on ''Power save'' option, if u choose 'on' so ur mobile only can be connected wid 1 device.., bt if u choose 'off' u can be connected wid more devices.

I just bought this phone n really love it :-D of course I got the pearly rose one!
The gps n greenheart fitures r so awesome! N rite, the voice when we make-answer the call is clear..

Sometimes when someone call or msg me the no. (already stored) shows the no. not the name.
Bluetooth connectivity is not with every device and cell hangs sometimes.
why it happens?? Some Remedies
