i want to buy this phone for my mum ,
is it recommendable ? my mum is looking for a 3G and camera phone , other than that the memory , but i believe most SE phones have 1GB + , thank you (:

Hey can anyone tell me what the camera is like? Can it zoom when its on max size? I noticed majority of SE phones cant do it. Whats the shutter speed? (takes picture quick, slow?)
secondly, has it crashed yet? Cos i am really considering the phone!!
Finally.... what network is this going to come out for? is it orange?

I bought the G705 and am loving it.
I do have a problem getting it to stream but.
Can access the net fine, stream youtube, but playback of music/streaming fails.
Does anybody have an idea why?
What sort of hidden settings are there?

GPS does not require EDGE or 3G. It works on its own. Google map (and all online features) works on Wifi.
I bought it in HK and had problem with youtube as well. Turns out that I have to setup the streaming setting to use Wifi and youtube is working now.
Downloaded Opera mini and the browsing is even faster. Although it is not as integrated as the built-in netfront browser.

Im using the home router, too (got a couple of laptops) and the download speed via WiFi on the G705 is awesome! Everything works perfect but i got 3 complains:
1-The WiFi rapidly disconnects and it is really annoying!
2-The camera is kinda... useless duo to the lack of AF (i think)
3-When closed - the top part of the phone does shifts a bit.
Overall - its nice! Its pretty cheat, too + its a reat pleasure to surf the net on it!!!!

i just brought this phone, it's great!!!!
i love it's download speed thru' wifi ( home router)
=D highly recommended....
the only laggy thing, i felt is the contacts. i find it kinda sluggish in opening contacts

The battery life depends on the user. If you are a techie in music, video and surfing, then you may have to charge everyday.
If you just use your phone for calling, it can last you for about 3 days before you need charging again.
The wi-fi connection is pretty easy and fast.
If you are a music lover, you may consider buying W705 if not, then this phone is pretty good.
