Got my G900 few days ago. And I have to say that this little thing has more "heart", "soul" and "personalty" than the many NOKIA devices I used before...

Unfortunately, recently SE brings out lousy phones for very high price.

                W890 (initially sold for 500USD!!!)
                - no autofocus
                - no flash!!!!
                - small screen
                - weak speakers
                - lousy camera
                - poor playback quality
                - high SAR value

                C902 (600USD!!!!)
                - small screen
                - 5mp camera which acts like a 3mp
                - poor image quality especially indoor
                - non-ergonomic buttons
                - high SAR value (RF)

G900 (550USD initially, now much less)
                - poor image quality especially indoor
                - slow processor!!!!! (outdated, old)
                - cheap look (some complained)
                - high SAR value

Of course, we can argue but thesenegatives are oticed by many users as well.

Only thing anybody need to do is to go and check the unit out before purchase - and buy the one it was checked. It is very likely that SE has some quality insurance problem.
And we argue here about the same models but differently built phones.

Can someone tell me if this phone saves outgoing messages or no??

(While trying the ph on SE site, i can only see inbox and email... no sent items/ drafts or saved mssgs folders.)

Also is it possible to save incomming messages in the memory card???

                  Cheers!!

Greenpeace launches guide to greener mobile phones
The latest edition of Greenpeace's quarterly Guide to Greener Electronics shows that Nokia has been pushed down from the first place by Sony Ericsson and Samsung

Greenpeace first released the 'Guide to Greener Electronics' in August 2006 and this is the sixth version of the list. The 18 top manufactures of personal computers, mobile phones, TV's and games consoles according to their policies on toxic chemicals and recycling. The TV and games consoles manufacturers are new this quarter.

Nokia has always been the best in class according to the Greenpeace Green Guide. The reason why Sony Ericsson now is the leader is because Nokia has penalty point deducted for deficiencies in takeback practice in Thailand, Russia and Argentina

Greenpeace tested the implementation of product takeback programmes in six countries where Motorola, Nokia and Sony Ericsson claim, on their websites, to operate product takeback programmes. Nokia representatives in the Philippines, Thailand, Argentina, Russia and India were not informed about their companies' own programmes and in many cases provided misleading information. Motorola staff in the Philippines, Thailand and India was unable to direct customers to collection points in their respective countries

7.7 Sony Ericsson - New leader due to improved takeback reporting, new models PVC free, but falls down on takeback practice.
7.7 Samsung - Big improvements, with more products free of the worst toxic chemicals. Loses points for incomplete takeback practice.

6.7 Nokia - A steep fall! Strong on toxic chemicals but penalty point deducted for deficiencies in takeback practice in Thailand, Russia and Argentina during our testing.

Traded my P1i 2 weeks ago for the G900 in Hong Kong. Reason.... the size. The 5 mp camera is not as expected.....but who takes serious pictures from the phone. Speed....waiting for firmware upgrade, hopefully it improves. Business applications, great in my opinion. Price....pretty reasonable. Have fun with it for those who got it. And for those who are still thinking about it, stop dreaming, its not the end of the world, you will still live even if you don't like the phone. If size matters, this will be the ultimate 'SMART PHONE".

Jayne, 23 Jun 2008after reading one page of the reviews, guess the camera re... morethe photos look fine on the screen, but if you want a 5mp high quality print, this ain't your phone.

Then again, why would someone use their phone for a 5mp print anyway?

The G900 is good. A smart phone that doesn't look like one. I really do like the touchscreen which is finger-friendly, just love it!

after reading one page of the reviews,
guess the camera really not up to expectation?
tort of getting it tonight.. but... the comments here pulling me back....

when you say the photos are not as good, meaning, when you preview the photo on the phone itself, or on PC screen or printouts are not as good?

i don mind if the photo is not as good as on the phone screen.

                                    thank you all
