finally got my hands on G900 (not mine though, just tested it)
being a P1i user, i can say that there is not much difference between the two.
I like the screen on P1i better, it is much bigger. The interface on G900 is customized for finger based touch navigation, which is reasonable considering that it has smaller screen.
For some reason, G900 is a LITTLE bit faster, but not that noticeable unless you access p1i at the same time(which is what i did) but considering that my p1i is loaded with application and almost full on memory, its not that significant. Since P1i and G900 have the SAME processor and Ram, i think the moderately faster speed has something to do with the interface used or probably because it has no files/applications installed yet.
regarding the keyboard, those used to the keyboard of ordinary phones wont have difficulty of using this. But of course, i can type 3x faster with my P1i keyboard. The Dpad of G900 though is very handy. that's one thing i would have want in my p1i.
the camera? G900 camera is good in well lit conditions but shows a lot of jpeg artifacts (not just noise) in low light conditions.
Wlan b/g on G900 and only Wlan b on P1i, but since my internet connection is only 1Mbps, i really can't see the difference.

This Phone just came out on Sat in HK along with the HTC Diamond.
SE G900 is 3780 HKD
HTC Diamond is 5680 HKD
Play around with both phones, but firstly I have never used any smart phone before so my definition of slow is only compared to my K800i.
I am a very typical user of mobile phone so I only just played around with it a little instead of trying all functions.
G900 screen color seems a bit "off" to me. Is very bright and "White" not sure why. I tried changing the Theme "which honestly took Forever", and the colors are still the same not sure if that's the touch screen fault. The touch screen is quiet responsive, but getting around the menu sometimes slows down, but only just a little.
The size is perfect and the keys are great. The camer pictures are nowhere as good comepared to my K800i even at 5 megapixel (this is only based on, onscreen comparison), the touch screen autofocus is FUN. But the whiten screen really annoys me. I was dead set to get this phone till i saw the screen. (Before I got the hands on with the G900 I played with the Diamond with the VGA mon) maybe that's why I was so disappointed with the screen.
God I'm such a novice at writing this. Maybe you guys ask some Qs I'll try to answer.
A few lines for the HTC diamond.
WOW thinner than the G900 at 11mm. the touch and feel of the phone feels very solid. Massive screen and one of the BEST screen I have seen on a Phone. Felt inlove with it. Amazingly the responsivness is quiet good. But i was such a noob I was pressing on the screen and didn't know wat i was doing. But sheer size, brightness, color, feel, design is so good. The stylus pen even has a bit of magnet to it so u don't hav to push it RIGHT in, it gets SUCKED into place.
So trading in my K800 for 800 HKD
Still going to cost me
2980 for the G900
or 4880 for the HTC (Ouch!!)
I think money wise G900 does its job but maybe I'll wait for the C902.
Sorry for the bad spelling typing ....just trying to help you guys!
Cheers

I had high hopes, but it seems SE can´t live up to even the minimal expectations - smooth and reliable performance.
SE, this seems like a huge mistake!

I do have both SE G900 and Nokia N82 and i voted 10 for each, bcoz both of the phone deserve to be on top, not like the SE G700 which is really not deserving to be next to the top. SE fans like me (i'm also a Nokia fan), dont fool yourself this phone is better than G700 right?
