@Tsepz

Your to Nokia-Fied to realise how good SE acchewly is these days.

these days SE is better then Nokia and even that doesnt matter how much Nokia has to offer in their offer, for e.g. N95 did you see the Hype they got people in? it was a waste in the end. becuase N95 had Problems LOL

SE Engineers dont get anything Wrong!
this G900 will Rule the Market, you just wait and seee

even the People who get the Nokia's always regret it becuase they enough problems to make people throw them against a wall thats what i was like with my Old N-Gage Original, it annoyed me soo much i threw it in the BIN for real!!!!!!!!!!! haha LOL

SE 4 Lyf!!!!!!

as i posted here before the only thing that keeps me from buying the P1i is the rocker qwerty keypad. and since SE have come up with the "traditional" keypad which the G900 has...i'd say this phone is a very good alternative to the P1i. it has all the P1 goodies and more...

              @2Ani

              your post to w0QM a.k.a. Tsepz(i pressume)
I presume you meant me? Because I'm the one who post the link. I am NOT Tsepz.

I fail to see whats so funny about my post. Contrary to what you believed, my current phone now is P1i and N73, having a secondary nokia phone doesn't make me a fanboy.

I am not the one reviewing the G900 on the link I have posted nor did I compare it against any nokia phones in my previous post. My comparison is against P1i, but it could hardly be considered as an "in-depth" review.
(to clarify, P1i is produced by Sony Ericsson, I swear! ^_^ lol)

I have always used P series phone as my business phone(mostly office and email) and is currently looking for an upgrade, that is why I am looking at this phone as a possible candidate. My "in-depth review" (if you call it that) is for current owners of P1i also looking for an upgrade. And I clearly put the words "in my opinion" before the comparison to indicate that it is JUST MY opinion

True, the link compared G900 against N82, that is why I clarified in my 2nd post that, and I quote:
"i would just like to add that the
comparison in the review between G900
and N82 is for the purpose of CAMERA
comparison only. Even if they belong
to the same projected price bracket,
the intended market and the overall
functionality of the phone is a
              totally different matter.

plus they seem to use a beta version
of G900 and a final version of N82."

Meaning, that is to compare the camera ONLY, but in no way determines which phone is the best. Functionality wise, they are in a different league!

I'm very well aware that G900 is not pitched as a camera phone and I do have a 7mp cybershot camera, but the problem is i don't carry it always, that is also the reason why an all-in-one devices like this is developed.

I am still hoping that the camera would be improved in the final release (by the way, the camera is NOT the same as the one reviewed in mobile-review).

Overall, considering that this is a mid-ranged phone, this phone is a good value for your money. But I remain firm in my opinion that this phone is not worth the upgrade from P1i, better wait for P5.

I never intend to offend any SE fans nor support nokia fans here, I just thought that you guys would like to be kept updated regarding the phone specs and updates.

This thread is becoming more and more like nokia vs SE wordwar zone! relax guys. I better keep to myself the next review link see :D lol

                hmmm. . . .i wonder what Alcatel has to do with a SE G900. . .
Anyway something else i wanted to know is the G700 and G900 going to get the Opera9 upgrade? Or do they already have Opera9? Haven't been able to find the full white paper of the Gseries phones.

I do kinda interested with this phone... But I already buy W910i 3 month ago, and it takes around 3 years for me to change my phone..^^ so, i can't have it..

yes, they just too high confidence with their Nokia.
I have made my decision, i will exchange my P1i with G 900. Because G 900 similar with P1i, and add some feature. I very like all new feature in G900. I don't care about the camera. If you want get good picture, then buy a camera with full optical carl Zeiss, not carl zeriss wannabe.

i would just like to add that the comparison in the review between G900 and N82 is for the purpose of CAMERA comparison only. Even if they belong to the same projected price bracket, the intended market and the overall functionality of the phone is a totally different matter.

plus they seem to use a beta version of G900 and a final version of N82.

another review of the G900 camera

                                http://www.smape.com/en/reviews/sony_ericsson/Sony_Ericsson_G900_cam-rev.html

the camera is still awful!!! but comparing the beta version on the mobile-review.com and this review, you can notice a slight improvement on the color balance in the whole picture but the color is still pale though, there's so much noise present and the white balance is too high. You can say SE is improving the camera little by little, i just hope SE would be able to fix the camera by its release date.

I couldn't understand why the beta version of G700 camera is relatively OK with just a little noise issue normally found in beta versions and the G900 camera is far far worst than any beta camera out there. I think this might be "the catch" for having a smartphone w/ wifi at a reasonably affordable price.

in my opinion, its NOT worth upgrading from P1i to G900. If you are crying for a faster wi-fi, then feel free to do so. But what's the point if your main purpose is just for internet browsing? a Wi-Fi 802.11b could very well accommodate your need. Also, The theoretical peak bandwidth of an 802.11b wireless connection is 11 Mbps. Thats ELEVEN MBPS!(maybe 6-7mbps in practice) online gaming/downloading movies is a breeze with that speed! if your internet connection is not as fast as that, then having a 802.11g is USELESS.

G900 and P1i are in a different portfolio, meaning, in the same life cycle (6months the least) G900 would be much cheaper than P1i. The P1i would be seen as a business phone and the G900 would be seen just an ordinary phone by its looks.

any improvement on the software from G900 could technically be applied to P1i as well

                                P1i has bigger screen.

If the G900 camera would not be improved, having a P1i 3.2mp camera is much better.

And the most deciding factor: they just have the same ram and processor! would you buy a new PC with just the same specs??? don't think so.

when gsmarena is goin to review this fone. cant wait 4 it... :D

well, although mobile-review already reviewed this fone, i find it that its kinda biased towards nokia.... not only this fone, but majority of SE fones... (no offense to nokia fanboy, it my personal opinion though)

therefore i cant really "believe" it 100%...

Judging a handset like this is based on feature-price-ratio. I repeat this is marketed as Mid-end. Luckily it's features more than satisfy my needs at work.

I do alot of quickoffice excel numbers stuff on the move as part of my job. with so many highlighting and copy pasting, I can't imagine performing thesame task without touchscreen!

Touchscreen is god send and it completes the ergonomics of a smartphone. this phone is intended for smart people looking for productivity. Less smart people (majority) go for multimedia in which nokia is targeting and sucking their wallets..
