I bought this phone today at SGD 78.00 which is comparable to Nokia 1600. Screen is small. Brightness can be adjusted. Selection of pre-load ring tone is quite a good range.
One thing i like about this phone, ring volume can be adjusted to maximum...i mean real loud compared to Nokia 1600 which i got for my dad for SGD 88.00, the ringing volume is fixed. I grade this phone 8/10.

is the phone fast when doing sms? Can it keep up with what you type when using t9? Not like t230 which is too slow?

This is just what I needed. Until someone really bright puts MSN+Skype+Wifi+BT+DECT+GSM in one phone, I can do perfect with this one and I am not going to spend more yet. Plus, this phone is one of the very few that can be called male instead of female or gay when looking at the design. Perfect euros spent.

Finally a functional mobile phone from SE with long talktime to suit 2days extra low tarriff plans. A simple single icon menu is gd for non techy ppl.

Finally, a PHONE, thank you SE, I cant wait to get my hands on a reliable phone that makes and receives calls, and as an added bonus messages as well, I have a lap top, and a Nikon camera and an Ipod thank you very much, all I need is a phone and with a talk time like that, forget about it, this is the holy grail of functionality, the rest of you, go ahead buy swiss army phone if I care.

guys ..the one that are making critics at this phone ..ur on the wrong page of gsm arena..try w990 or other models ..this is a BASIC phone!! a really cheap phone made for ppl that needs just a phone not a camera or mp3...etc this is on the segment with nokia 1110, 1100, 1101, 1112 ..basic phones ..with reliable batteries ..so one more time ..the n95, n80 , w900 are on other pages...

stop mockin this phone it's a low end phone for making calls and sms only like 70% of users in world wide not every one can afford 500 $ for a phone

What a wonderful phone! Perfect for nursery school kids..they can call their mummy and daddy and not do anything else...so they would not waste handphone bill and listen to MP3 and wasting precious time...:{ (NOT VERY NICE DESIGN..SCREEN TOO SMALL...NOT EVEN MMS????)

This is a J phone (J stands for junior) it means that these type of phones dont have anything this is a 'mobile' phone so there are a lot of people that want a 'ferrari' phone with mumbo-jumbo features!
