jill, 26 Nov 2008ive just got this phone for £8 in asda for my mum who just ... moreIt's pretty the same with my J120 UI.. You can't change the ringtone volume manually, just use the 'discreet' if you don't want your phone ringing to loud.. About T9 in writng sms, when you start sms then press option, dictionary, don't use dictionary.. Hope that will solve your problem.. Coz my J120 has that option..

ive just got this phone for £8 in asda for my mum who just likes basic phones. the problems with it i've got are that you cannot adjust the ringing volume the only options are silent, normal, discreet and loud. the normal option has a warning about loud ringtones! we don't want deafening ringtones! also when texting it automatically goes to predictive text which is difficult to use (i have only just learned her how to text normally) and you cannot change the settings to multitap, you need to change it each time you go to send a text. if anyone knows how to change the ringing volume or how to keep the text on multitap please let me know!

I want one. Simple, cheap and durable phone with no camera and long battery life is something I've been looking fof for a while now.
I like that it has FM radio and torch function too, no BS, just the essentials.

This fone uses new kind of charger, like mini usb.. And 3,5mm jack also..
And X-peria uses this kind of charger and 3,5mm too..
So SE is introducing their new charger and jack for the very first time for their simple basic fone and extreme high end one.. Funny thing..

just got this phone yesterday as i need a phone without camera. i must say i'm pretty happy with this cute little phone, it's membrane keypad feels really solid, radio is gd, i love the short cut access to all neccessary functions (basically it has everything that you normally will need) other than camera. Of cos the lovely 35mm jack is a godsend. the only thing i'm not tt please abt is that the navigation keys would have been so much nicer if it's "anodised" not chromed.

So.. This fone has 3,5mm jack with no fastport.. I wonder what kind of headset and charger that bundled with it? Strange.. But 3,5mm has a good point in here..

Amir - you cannot block numbers or text messages.
Keypad is very good for a basic phone. The Navi key is excellent. ( Nokia take note ).
Available at ASDA in the UK for a bargain £8 on the
T-MOBILE NETWORK.
Ringtones are loud but there are not many.
Phone holds 300 contacts.
Press and hold down 0 to activate torch which is a bright white screen.
Press and hold down # to activate silent mode.
Menu is very clear and easy to understand and navigate.
Back cover is a bit fiddly to get off, you have to slide the lock back on the back cover and from the bottom use your finger nails to open back cover.
Overall though, this is a very good basic phone and much better than nokia basic phones which have went down the drain.
More ringtones would have been welcome though and there is no RING-RING RINGTONE but this phone is a great start for Sony Ericsson to improve on.
Well done Sony Ericsson ! 8/10

I've seen the black one at Tesco and it's being sold for only £8 for T-Mobile PAYG. I like the black very much. I hope I can buy one which is not locked to any network. Keypad feels so nice.
