This phone lasts about 3 and a half days on minimal settings and use, about 1hr talk time and 30/40 texts and alarm or two. The other day i put the brightness and volume to maximum settings and in less than a days time it was almost depleted( from full charge). Very basic phone, i wanted a basic phone but this really is too basic ! lol.Worth the price tho and it is good for radio only. games aint that good and you can't add anymore

I have been using this for about three months as my moto v8 faied to bounce when i dropped it and smashed into a million bits. Superb battery (i use constantly during the day for sms and talk), good radio, got it for £4.80 from CPWH. Two weeks to go before new handset arrives, just hope new one matches upto battery life. Simple no frills, no camera no mp3 but hey it works really well. WELL HAPPY!

auuuu voting result now (march2009) is 7.6 - 7.6 - 7.7 uauuuuuu.in my opinion is overrated big time (design I'm not talking it is a matter of personal choice but performance and specially !!!!features in my opinion should be 2.5 for a 2008 model the features are... in fact there aren't almost any) is understandable because of the price range about 10 pounds in UK (Jan2009) I'm using it for 3 months and the readers are misguided by the 7.6 average votes for features, but good phone 4 THIS !!!! PRICE

hi I have it for 3 months already and it works OK.. after one month (10-20 TOTAL hours of playing) radio doesn't work anymore. sound is almost good sometimes on a noise street i wold like it to be louder. reception is OK. battery OK 2-5 days used with 1000mins/month contract with RANDOM daily usage, menu simple not many options. Good choice for this price (10(price)+10(to pup) pounds=12+12euros=15+15usd in UK dec2008) overall at this PRICE money well spended. Ps read the specifications specially what this phone doesn't have like bluetooth and many others

HI just yesterday I bought one SE J132, I am a totally mobile freak and know all features and uses of mobiles but since I have used nokia since years I was bored of it and wanted to use SE or other brand and since I got BSNL lifetime card I wanted to buy a simple basic fone for additional use, in my other nokia fone with airtel i use all features, now lets talk about SE J 132, liked it amongst other nokia, LG, Samsung which were in 1400 - 1800 range, it cost me 1800 bucks,
best feature is radio, n the headfone jack, now i need to experiment with USB cable and see whether can it be connected to computer n we can hack / modify it or not.. rest features are fine as just bought it yesterday havent used much,,, torch is just addition not much useful but ok ok ,,, mean light will be stable for long time,,
one problem is there dont know whether its network or handset, from my airtel sent one sms yesterday night to my BSNL SE J132 but still not received the sms, but received other sms which is sent from BSNL no to same bsnl no,,, i.e sent myself the msg i received that message,,
the thing i miss is that it doesnt have feature of profiles like in nokia so that u can easily set preferences n change them at touch of button for meetings outside, vibration etc etc,,,, lets see how my experience of SE J 132 goes,
thanks for reading this review

About battery life
You haven't been lied to, but they didn't exactly tell you the "whole truth and nothing but the truth" either.
The battery life they stated is calculated in IDEAL conditions, which are always pretty far from REAL conditions. That means several things:
A) Your cellular provider's antenna is probably further away than when they tested - this makes a difference even when you don't talk or message on your phone because at that times phone is "ready to recieve/deliver" state so you can receive SMS (or incoming call) as soon as some other user sends it.
B) They tested standby time with virtually no calls and messages incoming and outcoming on the phone - you probably text and call atleast some time between recharging it and that changes the battery life. Basically anything you do with it will affect battery life as it consumes energy - saving phone numbers, using torch, radio or calendar...
C) To make your battery last longer you may want to do several things:
- turn off vibration if you don't need it
- lower the speaking and ringtone volume and dont use speakerphone
- lower the brightness of the screen
Menu -> Settings -> Brightness -> (press down = the Phonebook symbol on the main, chrome-framed button)
Hope this helps :)
