Dee CRO, 13 Feb 2009A) Unfortunately, that is not possible with this phone - Vi... morethank you for your informations.

and to reply to Roual about battery life:

i agree that is decent (for me it keeps the phone working for a week), but from what specifications says is quite different. so this for me represents a minor problem (i'm feeling like i have been lied - it should work more than 1 week)

the reason why i baught the phone is that i like basic phones (i don't use those mumbo jumbos: cameras, players, internet connection etc. - even the radio i don't use it)
and another reason why i baught it is the keypad (i like it a lot). i wanted this kind of keypad to a mobile phone for a long time (it's quite what i had in mind about a useful keypad).

cybogd, 07 Feb 2009How to put date on screen, like time appears? Is there any ... moreA) Unfortunately, that is not possible with this phone - Vibration is either set off or on - there is just one setting for all loudness types. If you carry this phone to school or similar places maybe it's best to turn the vibration off altogether. I don't find it too useful - if the phone is in my jacket I usually can't feel the vibe, and if it's on my desk it either rings or the screen starts flashing on the incoming call (so I see the call even if its on silent with vibration turned off).

    B) Time is set by:
Menu -> Settings -> Time and Date

and then you're in submenu where you can change time:

I suggest you first change time format to your preference, then time then date. Good luck!

Hi all. I actually like the J132. I am considered by my friends to be a phone guru, because i have owned every single one in the Nokia communicator series from the original 9000 to the new E90. I have also LG Viewty, N95, SE k850 and most other High-end phones. The J132 in my opinion isa simple basic and straight forward phone. Ideal for a 1st time buy or a child. Its not customizable, so no music or ringtones or pictures or themes or anything like that, but it's still decent. Battery life is good. I am on my phone for about 6 or 7 hours per day and it still lasts me 2 days without charging. I like the weight and size too. Wasnt so sure about the 'torch functionality'. All i is, is a white screen and depends on how bright you have set your display. Here in England i paid £5 plus £10 top-up on Virgin network which also works fine with t-mobile network. For £5, i think it is EXECELLENT value for money.

How to put date on screen, like time appears? Is there any way to turn off vibration, but when you press silent button to turn it on again? Because i noticed that if the vibration is turned off and is set to silent, it won't vibrate when someone calls (i want vibration off when using ringtone)

thank you in advance for your answers

i bought it cause i need a mobile without a camera and with radio for the army. It is not that bad if you know what are you paying and for or you need a such phone. The main menu is very simple and very basic but it is well built as a plus i consider the option to minimize the radio. The sound quality is good both for ringing and talking. Although sms writing performance and easiness have nothing to do with a more expensive phone (you cannot erase a message from the list, t9 is not capable for new words) it supports group messaging and with a key the swap between the writing methods and languages. Battery is really amazing and the overall phone quality its not so cheap as the keypad is better from a few more expensive phones.

Finally got hold of this phone, but I am really disappointed because of the lack of entering my own words in the T9 mode. Sigh... Guess I should just return to using nokia's low-end sets.

Frustrated, 19 Jan 2009It#s been asked before.....but no clear answer How do yo... moreI explained it and I think I was precise enough. To repeat myself:

Instructions on how to open it: there is a small hole in the back of the phone. Use your fingernail on that hole, pull it downwards (towards the USB and earphone connectors). It will click and slide down aproximatelly 1 mm. Now hold that small part that slided firmly, with fingernails of one hand and stick your other hand's fingernail (index finger) into MiniUSB port. Pull in opposite directions, it will open.

To eject battery there's a small hole inside on the lower part (close to USB ports), where you stick fingernail or screwdriver and it will pop out. SIM card is under the battery, easy to put in and remove.

If you eject the battery you will have to set the time & day again, but that's liek 15 seconds work.
