I heard that the battery life is not that great but I liked the way it looked and bought it. I'm shocked that the battery just keeps on reducing and the phone goes off. Will replacing it with a standard battery BST 30 700 mAh solve the problem and will SE replace the handset

Salam no doubt it is a very very good set but its battery hmmmm...... if the company made its battery good no doubt it is going to win all challenges bcoz it conatins every thing but very low battery time.

I m a user of J200i. No doubt about its look & style, but I m facing 2 problems with this set i.e. Battery time is not good enough to satisfy a customer & sometimes it stops responding.If any 1 can resolve these problems,please contact me.

Hi All.J200 is what i want i buy it a month before its sound is wonderfull its shape is beautifull this is very decent mobile.but it has low battery life and low memory

I bought Sony ericson j200i with a hope that its a good set but now I regret my decision.
Infrared port is incompatible with other contemporary phones like nokia and Mitsubishi etc. Games are pathetic, you don't feel like playing any of those. There are no sites from where you can get some good games for J200i set. I hope Samsung puts the same on their web sites.

Hi All,
I have had the J200i for 3 months.
It was returned to Sony one week after purchase...I received an sms and it kept vibrating...
They put a new insides in it. It worked fine..except for the battery life of 2 days ...2 and a half on power save with no calls...hmmm a bit short of the 200hrs specified...
Now it won't charge at all, and has been returned to Sony for repair..
I hope they fix it properly this time.

This mobile is quite cool and the most dashing thing in it is its sound and dedicated speaker.But Sony Ericsson forgot to add more memory in it thats why users can't download kool stuff

I like J200 cause it's very cheap...
I just need to make a phone call and sms, no need to send data, or anything, as long as I need for and it is enough for me. Simple one..
I have experience with philips 855 it was suck...

I cant believe the menus are so slow! It is the same speed as my old T68! You would think with this watered-down version without bluetooth, MMS or anything that the operation would be fast...
the joystick is not comfortable or easy to use.. buttons feel "mushy" There are better budget phones out there..
all a good budget phone needs to do is be loud and clear for talking, operate fast through the menus.. and have a slim, minimalistic profile. is that so hard?

~* Battery is juzt crap :S .. it dont even last for a day ... if u use the phone for 30 minues continueosly battery will fall 50% down :S
other wise a gud set if batter problem fixez .. *~

The ring tone in this mobile is quite loud , but when you make a call , the voice on the other side is barely audible. Each time I make a call, I used to tell the person on the other side to shout. If you use this phone , people will think you are deaf. and .... Battery life is poor. Gets heated soon.
On the positive side it's sleek, resolution is better compared to other phones of comparable price range.

The J200i is plain simple nightmare to the user!!!! 4.8k completely wasted!!
Good things:
1. Very sleek & sexy. Love Sony Ericsson for the design!!!
2. Display is good.
3. Easy to use interface.
4. Irda
5. Renaming of profiles possible.
6. Nice themes and wallpapers preloaded.
And now the things that matter the most:
1. Battery doesnt stand a 15 min conversation. Sony Ericsson should apologise to its consumers and replace the battery for free!!
2. Audibility questionable in heavy traffic conditions.
3. Reception not as good as Nokia/Samsung/BenQ
4. No MMS!!!
5. Files (pictures and tones) limited by nos which is ridiculous.
6. Memory low
7. Damn slow though faster than some Nokia models.
8. No data cable available!!
9. And software has millions of bugs
~~Phone goes into silent mode automatically.
~~Master resets itself.
~~Many tones are simply not played,I checked format and versions properly.
~~Irda gives problems sometimes. when transferring large files.
~~Hangs without any provocation.
~~Joystick problems at times.
10. No Java for additional games.
Simply put; dont buy the phone if you get calls lasting more than 15 mins!!!!!
or wait till Sony promises to fix the software probs, battery probs and makes data cable available.

i also agree with most of the other users that battery timings of j200i are less than the other copatable sets.so sony erricsson should introduce a battery to be used in the set which has more talk time.
