Hi LuboG!
Not only does k300 have J2ME (java) latest technology - it is also one of the best at it!
"Java sprinter
What is really surprising about Sony Ericsson K300 is the extreme speed, with which it manages the applications created in the mobile Java. When tested with jBenchmark 1.0 | 2.0 it performed the stunning result of 3773 | 175, which sends it among the first top ten java mobile phones. None of us really expected such an excellent performance from a device of the class given. What's more, this mobile's Java application is accompanied by the 3D technology Mascot Capsule Engine Micro3D Edition, which is meant to fasten the creating of tri-dimensional games and their playing process"

Hi all!
I have got this phone for a week and I am pretty happy with it!
It is very simple and well made. It has J2ME (java) latest technology which was very important for me. It has optional package like MMAPI, Video player, java 3D and Messaging (SMS) send/recieve API.
The display is 128x128 and the battery lasts for around 4 days which is a bit small time, but it is ok! I specifically wanted the smaller display than k500 in order to gain better battery life and 4 days is fair enough.
Good phone! (for the money :-))

Jadugar,
it sounds to me as if you found a minor software bug... but does it have any real practical implications?

Joe,
it isn't difficult. Go to Sony Ericsson's webpage. Type in HPR-20 in the search field and press enter...
Here is the webpage:

shammy,
you can't increase memory in K300. You need a more expensice phone, such as K750 for that.

Tell me about it, vodafone loaded so much junk onto this thing it is not funny. i hate the DRM !! i spent 30 bucks to get a tone that dosnt work. The unlimeted Video's make up for it though

Hi Matt,
what you have is a Vodafone-branded K300. There are also Orange, TIM etc -branded phones because these operators buy very big volumes from Sony Ericsson, Nokia etc and demand that they are branded. You can see these branded phones also from NOkia, Motorola etc - the operators are very powerful... Sometimes the user interface is also changed. Vodafone's interface is much more ugly than Sony Ericsson's in my opinion, but it is there own choice to demand to have it to their customers!
This is also why I say that the memory available for user is between 10-12 Mb. Sony Ericsson's K300i has 12 Mb, but sometimes the operators put is so much extra material/software/files that it steals some of this memory from the user.
ALL K300 support DRM. DRM means that you cannot copy copy-protected material. However you can copy all MP3s, games etc which are not copy-protected.

I won this phone in a chocolate competiton.
It came from VODAFONE !! instead of the qickshare bit down the bottom it has vodafone. there are lots of other things that vodfone have on there as well wich you CANT REMOVE !! if you want this phone dont get it on vodafone. It is a great phone but scratches very easily. The vodafone version also suports DRM ringtone meaning that they must be copy protected MP3'sn is there any way to stop this ???

Paco,
when you install a theme it overwrites the wallpaper. However, you can always overwrite the theme by installing the wallpaper again. Chose the picture you want as wallpaper > more > use > as wallpaper.
