Hats off to Sony Erricson service in India. I posted a compaint to their service center email and got confirmation on Sept 9, 2007 vide ticket no. 71469339. Today is Oct 5 and no reply as yet. It seems that Sony Erricson is just busy manufacturing mobile sets and is leats interested in customer service. VERY DISSPOINTING INDEED. I would have been better off if I had rather relied on some small time manufacturer instead of SONY.

just got my polished purple SE K510i this evening and I'm loving it! i'm kinda' missing the sony ericsson user interface already and that's why i'm having fun playing around with my new k510i. I have the w800i but my sister borrowed it. anyway, i'm giving this new k510i to my brother! he would surely be happy when he gets it in the morning!! hehe. the 28MB memory is not much of a space though. so what i did is i changed the picture size of the camera to 640x480 so that over 300+ pictures can be taken. i squeezed in 4 mp3s and it still has 20MB of space! i also installed a full KJV Bible in it too.. :) it's not much of a full-featured phone, but it's a good phone for it's price. if you want to spend less and get good features, go for ALCATEL C701/C707/C717/C825/S853.. they're very cheap but it's packed with mp3 players, bluetooth, microSD card slot, and FM (on some models).. Alcatel was then a crappy phone, but now they've got good ones to compete with Nokia and Sony Ericsson.. Best of all, you get all these at a very very low price! :)

has anyone used the email function on a SE k510? I have not been able cu configure the phone... in the past I a had a SE K300 and it had a different configuration menu an in worked with the email account that I had but the K510 displys the error message "cannot find server" and I have note found where should I put the adress and port of the pop server... cand somebody help me? :D

this phone is nt having enough memory...... and features are nt lucractive and i dnt think i will buy this phone..... sori to say this........... basheer

Just got my phone back from service center. It turns out the software was corrupted probably i've jammed with too much mp3 files 26mb in all. I guess the lesson is don't fill the memory too much, the files will get corrupted and later it affects some other files till it corrupts the software. Leave some free memory for it to breath on. Otherwise phone is still great. Don't expect too much from it, otherwise buy a better phone like the K850i or K800 or better yet Nokia95.

K510i is a very good GSM cellphone in the segment of 4000 Rs. to 4500 Rs. price customer.K510i capable to capture photo with 1.3 MP camera with 4x zoom,65K TFT display,1000 contact phonebook memory(SIM memory extra),MMS capable,inbuilt 28MB internal memory,View clear video in horizontal mode with video playback in a good no. of frames per second,Blurtooth,Infrared,Good output voice through erapiece,good output through speaker. i think in this segment this is very good set..thanks sonyericsson.(Kota-Rajasthan-098295 30662-INDIA

To paul: My decision to buy k510 was based mostly on what I read in the reader's opinions. And I have no regrets. You might have read complaints from some, but most opinion is that K510 is a great phone. The best in its class and price. I agree with that. Just like to share some things:
Very low memory ( solved with a data cable). The camera can't handle white well (seems to me, it just my phone). And no FM.
Overall, its a great phone. Functionality and price, two thumbs up!

Yes you can trust this phone. only problem is , the 28 memory is shared and hence we can use maximum 22 mb free one time. then the camera picture display in phone is also bad. but if we transfer it to computer, it seems to be good. then key pad is little harder, specially soft keys near to joy stick. heard that if a drop of water falls joy stick wil get damaged soon. there all are the draw backs. 252 k display is good, if we install opera mini, browsing will be very easier. now i am posting this from my mob. 1.3 mp camera is good. sound is also good. will get data cable free with phone. gprs is also quiet fast. weight is also less. style is also ok. nothing more. if you have doubts or softwares please give to me also vinaym_007@yahoo.com ANY BODY KNOWS HOW TO DELETE PROTECTED SPIDER MAN VIDEO FILE FROM THIS MOB?AWAITING REPLY SOON.

I just bought this set yesterday, and I am utterly utterly dissapointed with the camera quality. Espeial when shot indoors, the images are norhti9ng less than horrible, maked them appear to be shot with a low quality barbie camera. Please help...can this be a software issue...is it solvable...or is this model actually like this.

Excellent phone,
i paid it 110 euros. There are better phones, but i am satisfied. It has only 28mb of memoru but everything else is ok .

Had this phone for 9months it was doing great, love its features, till its screen went white all of a sudden, it won't start up. I took it to a be repaired for its still under warranty. Anyone has the same problem? Don't know what caused it, is it software? or a virus of some sort? I haven't dropped it once.

The length of the video depends on the available memory. Be sure that the shoot mode is High Quality Video not For Picture Msg.The video length in both modes depends on the video size. Around 30 seconds for large 178x144 PICTURE MSG video, a minute for small 128x96 video. For high quality video, you can record until you run out of memory.

Hope you guys can help. My k510 camera's great. The only problem is(besides having no memory card), it can't handle white color well, it becomes greenish. The pictures are great on good, adequate light, but too much light, anything white becomes glowing green. Can firmware upgrade/update fix this?

Absence of memory card is a draw back ,but we can manage by offloading the data from phone to the computer when it is full. I personally feel that if i am right, preloaded video like spiderman3 in k510i special edition cannot be deleted and it consume more than 3mb of your 28 mb memory,Any method to delete this protected type video file?I want to use max available memory to hear songs.Now only 21 mb free after softwares and games
Sony should avoid adds in such editions of k510i.
