Thanks for the response.... I didnt get answer if the Video tone can be assigned as alert for calls?
The specification here says 9 Hours Battery back up .. BUt if i read the reviews many people are frustrated with the battery backup.. Could anyone comment on this?

ei, i just have this phone three days ago! I bought this phone because, other than its price, it has a good feedback in this site... i would have to agree if someone would claim that it is an excellent. sound is great, the display i love it, the cam very amazing, connectivity on GPRS relatively fast compared to my motorola fon, design is satisfactory....
but i was sad to know that this fon worns out battery life easily (a major hindrance to maximize its feature)... another is that, just today, when i was about to check my fon if i got any message, i got paranoid when the fon didnt turn on (despite that it has still 80% battery when i last used it)... it took about 2 minutes that the fon restarted an turned on back... before this happened, i switch the profile to silent mode... after it had turned on back, i change turned of the silent mode but then it remains in the silent mode...Good thing everything were restored when i did a PHONE RESET.... im lucky enough to keep my files on my 1G memory card... A friend of mine told me that it "RESET PROBLEM" is usual to all units of Sony Ericsson fon regardless if it is cheap (as in the J210i) or expensive (as in P990) that hope this would help other users or future users in making up their minds with this phone.

Hi .. i am thinking of buying this phone but i have some doubts .. can anyone clear them?
1.whats the browsing speed if i use it for Internet with Laptop connected from Data Cable.
2.Can a video be assigned as a Ringtone ?
3.How about the battery backup?

K530I USER, 25 Oct 2008go to sony ericsson web site and you can send settings from... moreI bought this K530i 3 months ago (july2008) I did not drop this phone or anything..but now it does not turn on..there's no problem with the battery as the"sony-ericsson" service center says. Right now I do not have a phone for a week, its still being repaired.
I lose my trust in this brand now.

I m using thi phone 4om last 11 mts........gud phone which i hav experienced ever......best sound quality....features r somewhat matched wid 3d cellphones........camera (better than nokia)i'll suggest sony ericsson is much better than nokia n also other companies.

This phone is not good enough to match its other competitors in the price range.Its protruden keypad makes it a less handy, camera lacks flash for brighter photos, music quality is good but not better, battery is another problem , the operating system is not good either.
I prefer nokia n72 to this phone as n72 packs up all features that k530 lacks plus the price is also low.

I bought this phone in the beginning of July 2008
(used a se510 earlier which was stolen)
I bought this after considering many phones.
This is the best valued 3g phone at this range.
LG ku250 is the cheapest but 1.3 cam and no radio?
The cam is not good with bad light (bit grainy and yellowish). But at daytime it's very good
no IR but no problem since it's hardly used.
All else far exceeded my expectations
The phone is great value for money
A friend of mine has a n70 and the only percievable difference is his symbian os(which gives him access to many applications). Other than that its just bulky and expensive. Just think if you're not in it for cool applications how much you are wasting.
The looks suit both work and play.I was worried about the gold coloured buttons (whether it looks out of place). It doesn't and once the keyboard lights up can't see any difference also. The problem i see here is no interchangeble covers.(my display alrerady has lots of small scraches). Anyway the feel of the phone is amazing. Weights just enough not to feel like a toy and definitely not heavy.
If you don't want 3G go for the k550
it's the same thing with a better cam and no 3G
and don't worry about the keyboard 2 of my friends bought it and they had no problems

good camera(better than nokia 2.0mp camera phones)good sound quality if u wish to use USB speaker for this phone u can feel real sound experience.overall good 3G phone for real low price just $170

I have been using this phone for 3 months. Nice phone, good battery backup. The only prob I am having is the usb & headphone connection. while using usb or headphone most of the time the connection get lost. Can anyone please suggest me how can I solve this problem??

Very simple and convenient phone. Sound and LCD are good. Restriction of using M2 card. Wish if it could handle cards larger than 2Gb. Camera is not too good. Day light and very well illuminated pics are fine but pics taken in bad light are full of noise and camera shakes.
