Great phone, but has problems with battery cover. It has all features you may need: radio with rds, internet, mp3 with good sound and even equalizer, weather info, good screen resolution, hands free, you can add a gps, good size and weight... buff so many good things. My only BUTs are only 2: battery cover, & I would even say the the whole phone construction is making noises when you type, it's squeezing. Unfortunately that rests the good feelings when using. And second, but minor problem, is that the sounds come from the backside of the phone and if you put them on your trouser's pocket, you "close" the sound exit, and it's hard to hear (to me only on that situation I must say). Sony Ericsson: Improve that and you'll be the best. Still a good phone.

Cipi: You are saying that SE doesn't have a "silent button"? Have you tried the volume-up or volume-down key? Other models from SE use this key, press once for silence, and twice if you want to reject the call.

is this right? No "silent" button when rings?

My SE k500i have "c" button for this function.

Just got this phone for free and IMHO it's quite worth it. The design is good and it is a very slim phone. The only downsides are probably the weak camera and no indication of missed calls/sms in power saving mode BUT you can still see it by pressing any key to exit power saving mode. Very good phone.

i got this phone free from my network service provider and there's so many things i dislike about this phone.

1stly the speaker at the back.. i can hardly hear it each time it rings.

2nd thing, it doesn't have a "silent" button when it rings.

3rd thing, there isn't an option for the sms tone to replay periodly until the sms is read, and it also it only plays maybe 3 sec of the mp3 song i selected.

4thly, the buttons are small enough but they're hard too.. makes it impossible for me to type an sms =(

I'm just really disappointed in it. My first sony and now i'm thinking what my next phone should be..

This is my 3rd SE mobile, and 20th mobile phone up to now. I sold Motorola L7 and bought this one.
Sony software is much, much better then Motorola's, but, Motorola L7 display, is much, much sharper and brighter then on K530.
Among the things I don't like on K530 are:
            1. font on incomming message is to small and when I read incomming message, it looks dull. Meanwhile, when I write message, font is larger, and very sharp
            2. I can't believe, that, when phone is in sleep mode , display doesn't show missed calls and SMS's ???? I had this feature on SE K500i. Also, there is no way to show digital clock as a screen saver ? Does anybody know how to set up phone, to show me missed calls and messages ?

                  Please help....

How is the ringing volume (mp3) ? Loud? (I'm not asking about the music player volume)

And how is the ringing sound compared to K610 and K510?

                  Thanks in adv

                              Greetings GMSArena readers,
I purchased this mobile handset just a couple of days ago and it seems to be doing the job for me. I am a guy who has been a nokia fan for quite sometime now and just before this(K530i) had a Nokia 3250(Xpress Music) phone and it was a rocker in terms of sound clarity and the external speakers are the best ever on a mobile.
I am used to listening to the phone going off sitting inside the loo when the phone was in the bedroom or anywhere else on the planet I guess...lol... and so was expecting that sort of a scenario with every phone that I'd pick up. but turns out that not all phones are lathat.... learnt the lesson the hard way, bought the S Ericsson W880i and it didn't have Radio. I need the Radio function.... and the phone is so thin and light that if it rings inside my jean, neither will I hear it, nor will it be felt ringing in the pocket and so I got this piece and it seems to be doing the job...
                              Sound Clarity is good and
                              so is voice clarity,
battery doesn't seem to be a + for this one though...

                              take care and enjoy guys....

                                I've been comparing these phone.
For many features, k530 is better than k618, except in sound quality for speaker phone. And for the technology applied, k530 got newest technology than k618. Also it has FM radio and GPS device anabler.
so overall... k530 better than k618

I had this phone for about a month already and I have found that its worth every penny! There are some drawbacks like squeaking back when you use the phone keyboard or lack of indication of missed events in standby state (LED for example). But there are some great features - battery life is very nice; 3G video call; etc. Camera is mediocre 2Mpix w/o features like flash or autofocus, yet this is not a camera phone, but makes great images on bright conditions.
I would have it without the camera for less money as well.
I cannot guess of a better phone at this price tag.

Ive it for about last a month.
In my opinion, for basic feature (not enhanced like cybershot or Mega bass) it has all of what we need.
If compared to K618 or moto V3x (comparation phone that I used before bought it). It has FM Radio, many other feature are almost the same.
But, if u like gamming or using other app, its support almost all java application and game that is designed for SE 176x220px screen. And its proccessor are better than others, even the more expensive like k800 or k810.
The batt is power enough, if we dont used often on "power hunger" activity like 3G's and bluetooth's org multimedia for many time.

for one who asking using FM, first u must plug your headset, then play fm. RDS is (sorry Im forgot its true definition) capability to show/use data or radio definition for some fm station which capable to broadcast within.

last words, this is the best choice phone on it's price range, if u only need functions.
