You can assign a shortcut for games and application menu. Assign games from entertainment menu, and apps from organizer menu.
Caution:
I've a j2me app called textpad downloadd from getjar. It wont run and only make your k550 very heavy. And u must restart your phone.
Dont try to install doja (docomo java) in original k550. They wont run and may damage your games and apps folder structure.

try this method. In camera mode open settings and select to save on memory stick. I was done this in the 1st day i buy m2, and even all files downloadd via net or bt are saved in m2 afterward. I dont know if this applies to all k550 but better try it.
For internet download it will take u r internal mem for temporary storage. Storing in m2 is done when the file is fully downloaded. Cant be adjustd.

My k550i is the best.. Loud speaker,good camera,buttons are quite small though..but its a great phone..only problem is when i download things they save on the phone not memory card

if u get a comment that ur mem is full (but in fact its not) try to shutdown, move the batt 4 several mins then start it again.
If u keep get that comment it might b u have installd game that incompatible with sony ericsson java platform. Try to delete it and restart again. If this attempt faild I'm afraid u will net to format ur memory card.

tips:
pressing the original shutter halfway let u autofocus, pressing it more let you shot.
however, you can press the select button on the center of dpad. it will autofocusing and taking pix directly after it. so you can focus on tilting the camera.
pressing up and down button (it become left and right in landscape mode) let u adjust exposure.
beware of noisy image.
pressing 3 and 5 let you zoom. easier instead of pressing volume button. button 4 let you change focus on autofocus, maccrofocus and infinite focus.
when to use focus:
auto = self explanatory
macro = object and camera are approx. 10-20cm distance
infinite = background and foreground in focus.

Sony has xenon flash as additional accessories. I forgot its type. Dunno if it's can b use with k550. I would like to know the answer too.

It's not a walkman series so definitely you will miss megabass. But you can flash it with w610 firmware. For the loudspeaker, i would say nokia 6300 rulez.

Change my name to a new one.
Another benefit with phone cover. there is increasing ban on taking pix. Thus why m600 dont have cam e51 no cam etc.
As most phon must be landscape on taking pix, this gesture is more n more associatd with taking pix pose. Which is bcom disadvantage when u use landscape capable app such as operamini.
K550 can get u a gr8 advant since its cam can b close with its cover.
Making u get avoided from humiliation of being accused by shop owners :)
more real evryday use benefits yet to come..

Morange can do for you, but i would recommend k550i original e-mail messaging. it's under messaging menu.

thanx 4 d info bro. i hope he stops now. I think the server already considered our fight as brutal and deleted many offense posts. no pain no gain...
i just cant stand sum1 so proud of his device (while no technology is static) and bully other.
btw i ve used pseudo names b4 it may causes confusions. the truth it is my cousin that sell k618i and change to T250i, not my sis or whoever. about my friend having besta is also truth. I was bet with her i can find a device comparably good than besta at lower price than $200.
My family got this handsets, nokia 6233, nokia e61, K550i, K510i, and a nokia 2865. while my cousin have t250 (selling her k618i), a k530i (yep one of my cousin do), a nokia 6300, and nokia n95 8gb. So i can have access to those many handsets and try different things. But k530i and k618i is not among those i ve tried.

you can simply select the ringtone file. mp3 or wma or whatever u want, then select more->use as->contact ringtone->assign to a contact. U can also assign a video contact.

and it would be faster if you assign it to shortcut menu.
TIPS:
you can start your Yahoo messenger by accessing "My friend" mode under messaging menu.

Yes, The light can be used as a flash light with the help of the software preinstalled in the phone in the 'organizer' section.
