it's only their perception, due to the fact that gsmarena review stated that the quality of the shots are not comparable to the K750 using the beta version. people have got their insentives that the pictures are somehow uncomparable so even though they are looking for the pictures of K550 which are great, they still bear in mind the statement of the reviewer so they end up being uncontented with the quality. but the review is just a beta version review. we can't be sure if the final version is just the same as the beta, but the shots from the users on esato showed that K550 can really replace K750 on imaging quality. maybe the best thing for you to do is to test it by yourself.

If it's very good quality camera-phone(cyber-shot), then why people are complaining so much about it's camera result?
Is it really equivalent to other cyber-shot handsets or just a media campaign?

I just bought this phone a couple of days ago in makati, philippines at around 10,000. I just added P350 for extended warranty on parts and services. The phone is fantastic for its price. I normally use my bluetooth stereo headset and it works seamlessly with the phone. The camera is great in outdoor and good lighting conditions but performs poorly on low-light conditions. But it does its job well. Comparing it wioth k750, it has more camera-functions than its older brother. The music (mp3 and radio) is also a good addition, but if you're a music-lover, its best if you buy its twin brother w610. Autofocus is the best - IN ALL ERICSSON PHONES!!! I usually take a snap of important documents and the camera taken READABLE still photos. The video is just a letdown since its resolution is very low compared to other competitors, but I'm not a video freak so its just ok with me.
Some people may not like the keypad, but its just fine with me. It maked the phone "classy" IMO. Come to think of it, nokia has similar keypads in n91 and 8850 right?
So if you're looking for a non-smartphone that has the functions of a basic smartphone, a good camera backed up by sony cybershot... And its slim!!! This is the perfect phone for you!!!

um for taking pictures you gotta have it up and down not sideways thats how you are able to zoom other than that you cant zoom

I've just bought a new S.E K550i. It's a great phone with auto focus although it's camera is not 3.2MP but it's enough for you to print on a 4R size.

I bought this phone during march 22... I want to know can the later version of the phone zoom when taking picture? Cuz my camera cant seems to zoom... It will always say zoom not possible in 2MP and 1Mp but zooming seems to be possible in VGA... can anybody please enlighten me soon?

if you have seen the two year old comparison test between N90 and K750. you could hardly say that the images produced by the K750 is not good. so "if ever" some news regarding that issue had leaked out of the NET it could be worthless to mention imho. SE AFAIK is not downgrading the firmware (who said that?). instead the company stopped it's production to promote the better K550.

night shots are similar to K750 ,but due to the fact that it uses smaller sensor than K750. K550 sensor can hardly catch more light than the K750's could so this results to the artificial light to be used to boost the lighting condition in which now it makes the noise. anyway i think mobile photographers loved photoshopping so the noise wont be such an issue. anyway K550 has 2 powerful LED flashes to accomodate lighting and we can use MXE-60 xenon flash module accessory too.

People are saying SE has downgraded the fw on 750i so it gives inferior images and sound than before to promote 550i. Think about it.

actually there is no possible phone to have bass because of the phones compact size. don't we wonder why in a 2.1/5.1 speakers the largest component is the Bass one?

how large is the m2 card packaged? i saw someone somewhere below me said that new order of k550 will come w/ 512mb card. is it trus? is it valid in indonesia too (in every part of the world)?
