I have had the K550 for a week now. This is probably the best mid range priced phone out there. First, battery is EXCELLENT, camera is above average for picture and par for video messages(that's all I use it for anyways), reception is very good, new keypad design, believe it or not, is easier to text on than conventional keys, very responsive (more space between keys), it is extremely compact (not bulky like my old k790), call volume is good, speaker is loud but clear, screen's resolution is a step down from the k790 but still very good, vibrate function is average (although you can download vibrate tones that make it stronger!) gripes... Battery cover creaks and makes the phone feel cheaper than it actually is! All in all, if you're not looking for the most expensive phone fully featured, this is in my opinion the perfect phone, has everything that you need on it.

This cell is goodlooking, but... Its purpose is to replace k750 on the market and I think it will succssed, however there is one serious con about that. Careful consumer will notice that SAR levels in comparison to k750, are huge. K750 had 0.66 W/kg (10g) and k550 has 1.25 W/kg. This will be uncomfortable, if some talks more than 10min mostly. I am a huge talker so I try not to use any mini microwaves ovens next to my head. Bye

      Hi there,

I finally decided to get this phone after narrowing it down from three. I figure this phone's features outweight the two others one which is LG KG800 and Z610. Correct me if I'm wrong or if you disagree, please comment on either phones. I'm planning to get this phone at the end of this month. But first I have a few questions that I hope you guys can help me with.

I read somewhere that this phone have a 64MB internal memory, but it also comes with an additional 512MB card so I was wondering if this is true? If not, can I just purchase any memory card phone or do I have to purchase a specific card by sony ericsson? Also, is there a place on the phone where I can put accesories? Like those cellphone strap. My last question is does anyone have the white phone because I know they are selling it. If someone does have it, can you please send me a picture? I want to see if the white one have the same blue light on the number pad as the black one.

I would really appreicate it if people would give me their feedback. Thanks!

it's not a problem in the phone, i think the battery also depends on the network that phone utilizes on that location, all phones may have different battery lives because of the network. another is that try checking the battey if it's genuine or not. here we got no problems from all SE phones when it comes to battery issue. most people say here that after using other brands , they ended up satisfied and amazaed with SE esp. the battery life.

Hi, I bought this Sony Cybershot K550i, a few days back for Rs 11,000. I thought posting the price is important because i faced that problem when i was making up my mind to buy that one as there was no info abt the price available.

Now , talking abt the phone , well i am using Sony Ericsson for the first time. I used NOKIA earlier, But i am impressed. The sound quality is great. FM is superb with the normal headsets. The picture qualtiy is up to the mark but a li'l hazy when using it in darkness.

Overall , its a lovely phone. Specially the design n the metal keys. A good combination of camera quality as well as sound. But yes the battery back up is a li'l disappointing if u r a heavy user but its perfect for normal use.

Overall i will rate it as Exceeding Expectations but not Outstanding.

Hi i am considering this phone but i just want to know if it has auto lock on the keypads. Can you set a time for the phone to lock or do u have to manually lock it yourself by pressing some buttons?? This is a feature of Nokia candy bar phones for those who know what i'm talking about. I just don't want random numbers being entered into my phone book, that's all. Thanks.

                                Hullo,

After spending quite a while on chkng various cellphones, i almost decided 2 buy K550. Now i read on this forum tht the battery is bad. That to me is a huge problem, coz am replacing my K700 for precisely the same reason. Kindly revrt opinions from user, i wont be surfing coz we dont have internet online in mauritius. S thr an alternate for d same budget...I have to decide it in a couple of days.

                                Appreciate your views. Thks.

yah me too red that it has 512mb card bydefault but when i purchased i got only 64mb card. and it has 80 MB internal memory not 64mb. its almost handsome fone but only the draw back is its battery. it has a same battery which is in w850. k800 and k790 but due to internal recharge system it works very good in thoes sets but over here its very week total standby time calculated is only 7 hours with having few calls. it;s very bad.

i have bought this phone two days before. everything is ok except battery and key pad. battery is very weak and keys are very thin that its become difficult to type msgs.

Yea I am also confused about the built in memory card... I bought K550 2 days back... and it had just a 64 MB built in card whereas i have read at some websites that it has 512 MB built card.
Secondly theres also another weird thing... it is written on GSM Arena and all other websites that K550 has internal memory of 64 MB, where as it has 71 MB free, without copying anything... so it means it must have more than 71 MB internal memory (maybe around 80 MB) ..
Can someone plz clr these confusions!!
                                        Regards
