can anyone tell me a rating on this phone from 1 to 10? I am planning to buy it.

    Nothing perfect thing when some function was integreted on same case.
    Not in maximum to be best thing.
    K550 is a good phone. Only that. (Cause i have Nikkon,Ipod,HTC,PC,SONY handycam,bla...bla...bla...and SE K550).
    Integreted and integreted is not to be Best.

      Go to settings > calls > manage calls > accept calls > only from list. Other than that may need provider support.

          yes it can. even the demo tour video is in mp4 format
          but as with any other phone except windows mobile, they are limited.

          usually max res @320x240 or 640x480, AAC audio at some compression only. That limitation is common on mobile phone. so what do you need is a specific software which encode to a format supported by mobile phone. do NOT use your usual video converter for PC.

            guys just a curious question..
            does this phone can actualy play mp4 vid format?
            coz i tried uploading some mp4 and this phone cant seem to recognize it.
            got some suggestions?

                    it depends on the person. for me it almost advantages me in any aspect. the dis are no QVGA, no 16M color, no HSDPA and such. but that's can be achieved by another phone. I bought K550 for a reason that no other phone can afford to do. which is Java smartphone!

                    some sources says 1gb, some 2gb, some 4gb. I don't know.

                    it's one of the main advantages of K550i. Its size 72mb, which also mean bigger RAM to start up Java applications. that also means REAL multitasking (run over 2-7 Java app at same time)

                    Yes to me.

                    All SE phones (except the symbian based one) are Yes they're fast. I even installed over 100 application and it still run fast. My largest java app takes 6mb memory.

                    picture result is somewhat depend on YOU. Clean images is produced by low ISO. And how to get low ISO?
                    1 - go to places with bright ambience (such as sunlight)
                    2 - in indoor or night ambience utilize lamp or built-in LED, or xenon flash (if any) and activate night mode shot.
                    3 - dont move to much while taking pix, especially in night mode. so hold your breath and press shutter quick!
                    4 - when a camera phone can NOT be mounted on tripod, NEVER expect a real digicam result.
                    5 - digital zoom is the same as no zoom. never expect to zoom with it. it's the same as original pix being zoomed at PC.
                    6 - if u think points above are bothersome. then dont get any camera at all including digicam. since they're all the same..

                    This one is technical and depend on the cam. NOT on you:
                    7 - technically K550 only have smaller focus that w810i or old k750i (but same image processor). so image will look blurrier.
                    8 - color result are somewhat different with the original image. silver may looks yellowish.

                              HSCSD is a GPRS maximizer, which will help current GPRS network to access the web @ 57.6Kbps even in low coverage condition.

                              EDGE (2.75G) is a network which download @ 234Kbps maximum speed, while UMTS (3G) is @ 384Kbps maximum speed.
                              the difference between EDGE and UMTS is that EDGE still use GSM network so it can't do video call. Therefore EDGE given 2.75G title eventhough EDGE passed 3G classification, so that UMTS can be marketed as 3G.
                              UMTS got its own band at 850Mhz, 1900Mhz and 2100Mhz

                              HSDPA (3.5G) or WCDMA is an UMTS (3G) replacement and backward compatible with UMTS. but data transfer speed risen up to 3.6Mbps and in some cases capable to 14Mbps
                              just like UMTS, HSDPA also has its own band at 850Mhz, 1900Mhz and 2100Mhz

                              WiFi or WLAN or IEEE802.11 is the king of network speed but low at coverage.

                                  K550 always better.
                                  I recomended you to by a PDA(with OS. Windows) rather than symbian's phone.
                                  It's the best way.

                                    I need you knows about all java's phones more simply, more stable (i means no virus, no hang, no rebotting again and again).
                                    More quick and fast without serious trobles in firmware.(especially SE Phone).
