I just bought the phone today but it has that awful '3' firmware installed on it.
Does anyone know how/where from to install the initial firmware on it?
And also, how do I use the radio bcuz on the '3' firmware whenever i select the 'radio' icon it says 'connection failed. check networ coverage or data and internet settings'?

actually its a good strategy. they didn't include memory slots because it would increase it's value. SE's strategy is to penetrate the market with state of the art phones like K608, k600i, etc. that is affordable to everyone. it would beat Nokia's 6680 and N70 because it is sold at a higher price. Like K750i it is sold cheaper compared to N90's or other 2.0 megapixels by NOKIA. SE's is not dumb. they're aware of the lack of memory slots, that's why they provided free USB cables and using them in your PC is a breeze.

how come this great phone does not include any card slot? Where are you gonna store all that video in? what kind of a selling strategy from SE??!

From the reviews, the pix, I know this will be another great phone from SE.. I've own 2 SE (ericsson) before - T39m (the best smallest, complete GPRS phone ever - bluetooth, IrDA, GPRS) and the Z600... its been ggod experience... the only lacking in K608 is a cerd slot which is a must nowadays... but if SE gonna put their proprietry MS Duo/Pro slots, then I'll will still not buy this phone... why not give buyers choice and put a combo MS with other slot ie MMC/SD/transFlash etc... then it will beat nokia hands down... that IMHO

Don't be fooled by the good-looking nature of this phone!! What a waste - a phone that looks great but is SUCH a disappointment. I have a 3g contract and have both this phone and the Z800i. What a diiference... the 608i is not in the same league as the Z800i. If you are contemplating signing a contract and think that the K608i is the phone for you then think again. It may be uglier but the Z8000 is far superior in every department other than looks. I know I have both!!

I thnk this phone is gd but 1 thng tht lacks behind is tht it shud b 2 mega pixel rather than 1.3 coz the customers r always behind a 2 mega pixel phone!!!!Overall its gd coz m selling this phone 4rm the past 2 mnths!!!!!!

i like this phone a lot .having all the feature what a mobile should have.so nice in looking. cammera is superb. i love the feature of this mobile phone.the thing is the camera is very cleared.

i work for t-mobile uk + this fone is on promo with huge commisions- but the best thing is is that it actually is a quality fone, supports 1.3meg camera,video, mp3, bluetooth, infrared,radio. apart from the memory i wud say it easily competes with 6230i for features. s-e my new faves.
of course i will b waiting for w900 insted but hey, i aint tellin the customers that.

Does anyone know how to extend the lenght of the message alert tone on this handset? I'm using an Emmerdale ringtone, which plays for 19 seconds on my Nokia 6230i, but only plays for around 10 seconds on this phone.

its an amazing phone which has good looks and good display and screen resolution as well moreover it has video callin which is an adiitional feature got 72 channels polyphonic ringtones and mp3 tones as well
and d best part is this that u can get it free with network 3 as i work for them so nebody lookin 4 dis phone mail me
